ROCKETS REBOUND IN A BIG WAY

LOWELLVILLE OH- Lowellville defeats Jackson-Milton, 34-17, to get back in the win column and improve to 5-3 on the season.
The Blue Jays drove down the field on their first drive, but were stalled on Lowellville’s 5 yard line, which led to a 22-yard field goal from Brady Cole give Jackson-Milton a 3-0 lead. Lowellville only needed three plays to respond, as Ricky Wilrich completed a 55-yard touchdown pass to Josh Pazel to give Lowellville a 6-3 lead.
Jackson-Milton retook the lead on their next drive thanks to a 3-yard touchdown run by Keegan White to put the Blue Jays up 9-6. Geno Perry responded with a 9-yard touchdown of his own on Lowellville’s next drive to give the Rockets a 12-9 lead going into halftime.
Lowellville started the second half fast, as Wilrich threw his second touchdown pass to Pazel from 30 yards out. Wilrich dumped it off on the two-point attempt to Anthony Kacir to give Lowellville a 20-9 lead. Geno Perry found the end zone again in the fourth quarter to give Lowellville a 26-9 lead.
Vance Esenwein recorded an interception on Jackson-Milton’s next drive to set up a 30-yard touchdown pass from Wilrich to Perry. Wilrich kept it himself on the two-point attempt to push Lowellville’s lead to 34-9. The Blue Jays finished the game on a high note, as backup QB David Osborne threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to TE Nick Bulow. Starting QB Jack McDevitt came back into the game on the two-point conversion and completed a pass to TE Jase Greco to cut the deficit to 34-17.
Lowellville improves to 5-3 and will host Waterloo next week for the Rockets senior night, meanwhile Jackson-Milton falls to 2-6 and will host Campbell next week for the Blue Jays senior night.
