ROSACE MILESTONE HIGHLIGHTS GIRARD’S TOURNAMENT WIN

GIRARD OH- Girard Lady blew out Struthers 12-1 on Tuesday to advance to the sectional finals.

Girard opened up scoring in the first inning, when Morgan Minnol threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate.

The Indians tallied six runs in the second inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Kylie Carpenter, Abbie Rafferty, Emily Rosace, Aly Wakefield, and Kyra Bell, all driving in runs in the frame.

Rosace got the start for Girard. The righthander allowed one hit and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Rosace notched her 300th career strikeout on the night.

Minnol led things off in the circle for Struthers. Minnol went four innings, allowing 12 runs on ten hits.

Girard scattered ten hits in the game. Malina Serrano, Bell, and Rosace each racked up multiple hits. Serrano led the way with three hits in four at bats. Girard tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Wakefield led the way with two.

Zoey Simpson went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Struthers in hits.
