ROSKO HOMERS TWICE, LADY BEARS RACK UP 24 HITS IN WIN OVER UNITED

LEETONIA, OH- The Leetonia Bears Softball team has never won an EOAC league game. That changed Tuesday night.

Megan Rosko was an RBI machine on Tuesday, driving in six on three hits, including two 2-run home runs to lead Leetonia Bears Varsity past a well-coached United team 14-4 on Tuesday.

Leetonia Bears secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Josie Glosser, Taran Ferry, Haleigh Brock, and Chloe Dale and a home run by Rosko.

United got on the board in the first inning when Warner singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Leetonia pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second Delaney Roller singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, Brock doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Rosko homered on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.  The Lady Bears put up eight runs in the fifth inning. The Leetonia offense in the inning was led by Glosser, Ferry, Brock, Rosko, and Dale, who all drove in runs.

Dale led the Leetonia to victory in the pitcher’s circle. She surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out four.

Warner took the loss for United. She surrendered 13 runs on 22 hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Leetonia saw the ball well today, racking up 24 hits in the game. Dale, Roller, Brock, Rosko, Meade, Ferry, and Glosser each racked up multiple hits for the Bears. Roller and Dale each collected four hits to lead Leetonia. Leetonia was also defensively sound and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gracie Duko had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Warner went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead United in hits.
