ROWE’S RECORD BREAKING BOMB WALKS IT OFF FOR LABRAE
LEAVITTSBURG OH- LaBrae pulled off some late-game magic Friday night, walking it off in extra innings to beat Crestview 7-5 in front of the home crowd.
Down 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth, it was Riley Rowe who stepped up and delivered the knockout punch—a no-doubt, three-run bomb to center that sent the dugout spilling onto the field in celebration. Rowe was a menace all night, going 3-for-5 with a single, a double, and that clutch walk-off homer. The home run broke the LaBrae program record for home runs in a season. It was her 13th blast of the year.
Crestview jumped out early, scratching one across in the top of the first on a groundout by Chloe Stoops. LaBrae answered right back in the bottom half with a two-run single from Vada Allen to snatch the lead. Allen tacked on another RBI in the third to make it 3-1, but Crestview wouldn’t go quietly.
The Rebels tied things up in the seventh on an error and a double from Brenna Figley, then grabbed the lead in the top of the eighth when Makayla McKee knocked in a go-ahead run.
But Rowe wasn’t about to let that stand. After throwing six strong innings in relief—striking out eight and walking just one—she took matters into her own hands at the plate and ended it in style.
LaBrae racked up 13 hits on the day, with Morgan Thompson, Shelby Bragg, and Allen each logging multi-hit games. Figley and Stoops both had two knocks for Crestview, who played clean in the field with no errors and nine chances handled by Figley alone.
