SALEM GIRLS FALL TO MINERVA 4-2

SALEM, OH- Bailee Thorn scored both Salem runs and ended the game with 2 hits including a double. With Salem down 4-1 in the bottom of the 6th, Hayden Carner hit a ball off the left field fence. If not for the breeze blowing inward she would have tied the game at 4-4. Instead, Minerva made a great relay into the plate cutting down the second rbi in what ended up an RBI double and ended the rally. Elly Exline, Meg Rossero and Sara Castles had the other Quaker hits. Rylie Troy stole a base in the game.

Taylor Thorpe went the distance (7.0 IP) in the circle and struck out 14 taking her streak of double-digit strikeouts in a game to 5. Only 1 run was earned in the game. Thorpe’s battery mate Hayden Carner called a great game behind the dish as well.

Salem is at Marlington Thursday
