SALEM LADIES SMOTHER UNITED IN SIX

HANOVERTON, OH- Salem exploded for 9 in the 6th to secure the victory. The 18 hit attack was a total team effort as every spot in the lineup had at least one hit. Bailee Thorn hit her second home run in two nights and had 4 RBIs in the game. Taylor Thorpe hit the top of the fence for a double and ended with 4 hits while reaching base in all 5 at-bats. Elly Exline and Sara Castles each had three hits. Hayden Carner added two hits. Jenna McClish, Meg Rossero, Hannah Kelm and Brooke Veglia all had hits in the game.

The defensive play of the game came from Sara Castles who made a running catch in left. Sam Moore in a soccer goalie-like fashion showed her athletic ability behind the plate with some nice blocks.

Taylor Thorpe garnered the win in the circle while striking out 11, giving up one hit and allowing no runs. Rylie Troy made her debut and pitched well in relief. Rylie struck out 2 in an inning of work.
