SALEM ON THE NICE LIST FOR HOLIDAY TOURNEY

SALEM, OH- The Quaker Boys Basketball Team tipped off their Christmas Season with some cheer on Tuesday night with a 69-35 victory over down-the-road rival, Columbiana.

Both teams touting young prospects on their roster, it’s the experience of the Quaker lineup that proved to make the difference.  Junior, Drew Weir set the tone inside and out with 15 points on the night to lead all scorers.  Brock Young was impressive as well with 12 points and doing work on the boards all evening.  Hunter Griffith seemingly did it all while contributing 7 points in the victory.

For the Clippers, Tyler Anderson and Carter Murphy led the way with 8 points while Nick Million posted 5.

The Clippers will return to the court tonight in the conclusion of the  Salem Holiday Classic to face Ursuline, while Salem will play for the championship against Poland.  Columbiana will start at 3:30, and the Quakers will cap things off at 7:30.
