SALEM TAKES ONE FROM INDIANS IN DRAMATIC FASHION

SALEM OH- Rylie Troy entered the game to pitch in the second inning with the bases loaded & no outs. She would finish the inning allowing no runs. As clutch as that was she went the rest of the way in the circle & struck out the last two batters in the 9th with two on. This set up the bottom of the ninth heroics. Channing Toy led off the inning by failing to yield to an inside pitch & taking her base when it clipped her. She then stole second & with one out Rylie Troy didn’t budge as well and she got clunked. Both moved up on a passed ball. Girard decided to intentionally walk Chase Toy before Mack Zumbar delivered an infield walk off single for the win!

Mack had 3 hits in the game & 3 RBI. Lauryn Barton had two hits and scored twice. Channing Toy showed why she bats leadoff as she got on base in all five at bats with a single. She would score 3 times. Girard walked 6 batters in the game with the Toy sisters working their at bats with 3 walks each. Jenna McClish had a hit.

Lauryn Barton & Channing Toy each stole 2 bases. Salem stole 5 bases in the game. Bella Brant & Jenna McClish each put down sac bunts as Salem played some small ball & ran the bases aggressively.

It was the 7th win of the season for Rylie in the circle. With the win the Quakers have matched last sesson’s win total with a whole lot of softball left in the 2022 campaign.
