SALEM WALKS OFF AVIATORS TO WIN 6TH STRAIGHT

Salem took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off double at the end of the game to topple Alliance. The game was tied at ten with Salem batting in the bottom of the ninth when Blaize Exline doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Salem collected 14 hits and Alliance had nine.

The Quakers took an early lead in the second inning. Lane Rhodes drove in three when Rhodes homered.

Salem evened things up at ten in the bottom of the eighth inning. They scored one run when Jackson Johnson singled.

The Quakers put up five runs in the second inning. Carson Rhodes, Exline, and Rhodes each drove in runs during the inning.

Gavin Wilms got the start for Salem. The righthander lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out six.

Haynes led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Alliance. The hurler allowed ten hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out five. Bennett threw two and a third innings in relief.

Salem socked one home run on the day. Rhodes put one out in the second inning.

The Quakers had 14 hits in the game. Exline, Darius Beck, Nick Coletta, and Rhodes each managed multiple hits. Beck and Exline each collected three hits to lead.
