SENIOR DAY GOES WELL IN MOHAWK

BESSEMER PA- Mohawk came out swinging and never looked back, cruising past Ambridge 8-1 in a wire-to-wire win.

The Warriors jumped on Ambridge right out of the gate, putting up a 3-spot in the first. Vinny Pezzuolo ripped a double to the gap that brought in two, and Drew Wrona cashed in another run on a fielder’s choice.

They kept the pressure on in the second with a pair of sac flies—one from Bobby Fadden and another from Pezzuolo—to push the lead to 5-0. Mohawk tacked on three more runs late to put it on ice, and while the exact path to those runs got a little fuzzy, the scoreboard didn’t lie.

Briar Crawford was nails on the bump, spinning five innings of three-hit ball while fanning seven and giving up just one run. Fadden came in to slam the door, working a perfect final two innings with three punchouts of his own.

At the plate, Pezzuolo was a menace. The dude racked up two triples, a double, and drove in four runs to lead the charge.

Mohawk looked sharp on both sides of the ball—and with arms like Crawford and Fadden dealing, they’ll be a tough out moving forward.
