STRUTHERS, OH-  The Crestview Rebels fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-1 loss to South Range on Wednesday.  South Range got things started in the second inning when Raider Senior, Brandon Youngs, doubled on a 1-1 count, clearing the bases and scoring three runs.

Freshman sensation, Jake Gehring led the South Range to victory on the mound. He lasted all seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out eight and walking one.

For the Rebs, Devin Turvey started on the hill and allowed five hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Tyler Hurd threw four innings out of the bullpen.

Tanner DaubKieth BergerHurd, and Jeff Feo each collected one hit to lead Crestview.

South Range saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game as Youngs and Jared Bajerski each had multiple hits for South Range.  Bryce James also was a big contributor with 2 RBI’s on the night.

South Range will take on Mogadore this evening at 6:30 for the District Championship.  YSN will have the game LIVE from Cene Park.
