SOUTH RANGE EDGES URSULINE AT CENE

STRUTHERS, OH- In one of the most anticipated games of the season, it was a battle of who could show less to the other team.  With both teams looking for a rematch with more at stake next week, South Range Coach Hanek and Ursuline Coach Weymer both wanted the win- but neither wanted to show their cards or give the other team even the slightest of advantages.

That said, the Raiders defeated Ursuline 3-1 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with the Raiders batting in the top of the fifth when South Range Senior Jared Bajerski drew a walk, scoring one run.

Nolan Shannon was impressive and led the Raiders to victory on the hill. He lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four.

Jonah Kirchner took the loss for Ursuline. He went six innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out three.

Josh Stear led Raiders with two hits in three at-bats. The Raiders was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Brandon Mikos made the most plays with eight.
