SOUTH RANGE GIRLS BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW (WITH JEFF FISHEL)

Everyone is feeling good in South Range. The Raiders have gotten themselves to the district championship. The Raiders will compete for their fourth district championship in seven seasons. However, it would be the first under new head coach Jeff Fishel. A district championship would be a great stamp on his first season at the helm of the program. The Raiders have gotten to this point with two decisive wins. First, they beat East Palestine at South Range to open the tournament. Then, in the district semifinals they silenced Columbiana 58-28.

Standing in the Raiders way is Crestview. The Rebels are coming off a huge upset over top seeded Liberty 69-53. Before that, the Rebels took down Rootstown 56-44. Crestview is hitting their stride at the right time, and that is always a scary advisory to have. Tanner Hoffer and Krista Perry make Crestview one of the best rebounding teams in the area. That fact is not lost on coach Fishel. Rebounding fundamentals will be a point of emphasis in the two days leading up to the game.

The Rebels and Raiders girls sports programs have dominated the division 3 world as of late. The last softball, volleyball, and now basketball district championships have all been between Crestview and South Range.

Who will grab a title this time around? YSN has you covered with a championship preview from South Range head coach Jeff Fishel.
