SOUTH RANGE GIRLS CLAW BACK TO ADVANCE
CANFIELD, OH – The South Range Lady Raiders pulled off a thrilling 39-38 comeback victory over Triway in their sectional opener on Saturday night, rallying from behind in the final minutes to escape with the win.
South Range trailed for nearly the entire game, struggling to find offensive rhythm early. Triway took control behind a balanced scoring attack, led by Zoey Baker (12 points), Sydney Frank (11 points), and Kenzie Gatti (10 points). The Titans built a solid lead and seemed poised to close things out before the Raiders mounted their rally.
When the game was on the line, Gwen Lowry delivered. The South Range standout poured in a game-high 19 points, igniting the late surge that put the Raiders over the top. Key contributions came from Ceci Foster (6 points), Heidi Bartels (5 points), and Sophia Lucente (5 points), as South Range clawed their way back into the game possession by possession.
With just seconds remaining, the Raiders locked down defensively, forcing a late stop to seal the one-point victory and punch their ticket to the next round.
South Range now turns its attention to the next challenge, where they will face the winner of Ravenna Southeast and Girard on February 18 at 7 PM. With momentum on their side, the Lady Raiders are ready for another battle.
