SOUTHEAST HITS THEIR WAY TO SERIES SPLIT

LEAVITTSBURG OH— Morgan Muncy couldn’t miss on Tuesday, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Southeast past LaBrae in a wild 10-7 showdown.

Muncy was a spark plug from the jump, collecting base hits in the first, second, and fourth before smoking a triple in the sixth to cap off a monster day. She finished with two RBI and was a thorn in LaBrae’s side all game long.

Southeast wasted no time getting on the board. Neena Truex got things rolling in the first with an RBI single, then the Pirates exploded in the second for six runs. Bella Mowery brought one in with a single, Muncy followed with a two-RBI knock, and Ava Stephens cleared the bases with a three-run bomb to left.

LaBrae didn’t go quietly, though. The Vikings punched back in the fourth with five runs of their own—Syrina Gantt-Gargano drove one in with a single, Lily Guesman knocked in two on a groundout, and Riley Rowe sent a two-run shot to dead center to make it interesting.

Rowe would finish 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Morgan Thompson added a solo homer in the seventh to give LaBrae one final push. Thompson led LaBrae in hits, going 3-for-4.

Southeast held on behind solid relief work from Liv Bragg, who picked up the win with two scoreless innings. Lilly Hayes shut the door for the save, and the Pirates’ defense turned two clutch double plays to help preserve the lead.

Stephens finished with three RBI on the night, while Truex and Miranda Timko each collected multiple hits as Southeast racked up 11 as a team..
