SOUTHEAST PUTS THE BEARS IN HIBERNATION
YOUNGSTOWN OH- Bradley Dillon was a tough out all night, going 3-for-4 and driving in a pair to help Southeast cruise past Youngstown East, 10-2, on Wednesday.
The Pirates got going early with a sac fly in the first, then opened things up in the third with a string of extra-base hits. Bradee Blankenship doubled, Dillon followed with a single, and Caleb Miller smashed another double to stretch the lead.
The real damage came in the fourth. Southeast only needed one hit to plate five runs, taking full advantage of a couple miscues and some heads-up base running. Dillon came through again with a two-run single to highlight the frame.
Miller got the start and was lights out, tossing three hitless innings with five punchouts and no walks. Southeast kept it clean the rest of the way with Caden Dillon, Cohen Richardson, and Nate Muccino each working scoreless innings out of the pen.
Miller finished with two hits, and the defense backed up the strong pitching effort with a flawless game in the field—no errors, and Dillon led the way defensively with 13 chances handled.
Youngstown East scattered a few hits and scratched across two runs thanks to RBIs from Yadiel Lopez and Frankie Rodriguez-Santos, but couldn’t keep up with the Pirates’ steady attack. Southeast hits the road Friday for a matchup with Waterloo.
