SOUTHEAST SIZZLES AT THE PLATE

ATWATER OH— Southeast didn’t waste any time setting the tone Thursday, piling on the runs and shutting the door in a 14-0 rout of Waterloo.

Ava Stephens was the star of the show, racking up four RBIs on three hits, including a three-run bomb to left in the third. She also chipped in an RBI single in the second as part of a steady offensive barrage.

The Pirates put up crooked numbers early—Neena Truex and Lylia Lavigna each knocked in a pair in the opening frame to get things rolling. Stephens followed up with her first RBI in the second, then Southeast broke the game wide open in the third.

Six more runs crossed in that inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Bella Mowery and Stephens’ three-run shot. Lavigna added another RBI knock to make it 13-0 by the end of the frame.

Liv Bragg was solid in the circle, tossing two hitless innings with a pair of punchouts. Savannah Powell and Miranda Timko came in to shut things down over the final innings, keeping Waterloo off the board the whole way.

Southeast racked up 11 hits on the day, with Truex, Bailey Morris, and Lilly Hayes all recording multi-hit games. The Pirates also flashed the leather with a smooth double play in the field.

Waterloo couldn’t find an answer at the plate and managed just one baserunner in the first two innings. Kristlyn Kehrer took the loss, giving up 14 runs—12 earned—over five innings. Southeast rolls into their next matchup riding high after this one-sided win.
