SOUTHERN HAS BIG TEST ON THE HORIZON

LEETONIA, OH- The Southern Local Indians came into week 7 against Leetonia on an absolute roll like no other, looking to not only keep that going, but they also were looking to secure their spot in the EOAC championship game. Southern’s juggernaut offense was too much for the Bears as Southern took a demanding victory, 48-6.

Southern did not need much time to get on the board and control of the game thanks to Wyatt Morris who started the game off with a 70-yard rushing touchdown. Morris wasn’t the only Indian who contributed on offense. Within the first quarter, Southern put up 280 yards with six different players scoring touchdowns. Ryan Exline found Markell Smith on a 52-yard pass. Exline punched it in with a sneak on the 1-yard line. Colton Soukup found the endzone on a 53-yard run, Cooper Edmiston added a 35-yard rushing TD and Noah Perfetto scored from 8 yards out. In total from the first half, Southern put up 369 total yards on 17 plays and ran for 317 yards.

Looking forward, Southern will move to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the EOAC as they are tied with Valley Christian for first. The Indians will host the undefeated Eagles Friday night in the EOAC championship game. Both teams look to get a championship under their belt and momentum leading up to playoffs.
