EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- Playing its first home game since April 18th, the Beaver Local Baseball team were hoping to earn a victory as the team’s three seniors Michael Agnew, Danny Davis and Hunter Saltsman were recognized before the game on Senior Night. However, the Southern Local Indians proved to be unwelcome guests as the Indians defeated the Beavers 5-1 Tuesday Evening at Beaver Local Community Fields.

The Beavers broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 4th as starting pitcher Ethan Agnew helped his own cause with a 2 out RBI single scoring Hunter Saltsman from third base.
The Indians took the lead in the top of the 5th inning with 4 runs. Smalley was credited with an RBI on a sacrifice fly to tie the game 1-1. Then Ethan Agnew was replaced by Ryan Cunningham. Cunningham walked all 4 batters he faced. He also threw 4 wild pitches, allowing 2 runs to score. Then another pitching change was made as Jaden Kiddey was summoned to the mound. Shortly after that pitching change was made Kiddey committed a throwing error on a pickoff attempt allowing a third run to score. The Indians added a 5th run after starting pitcher Pratt scored just after another Southern Local runner was caught in a rundown in between first & second base.
Pratt was the winning pitcher for the Southern Local Indians as he pitched 7 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, 3 walks & 6 strikeouts.
Beaver Local starting pitcher Ethan Agnew pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ryan Cunningham was the losing pitcher for the Beavers as he allowed 3 runs and 4 walks without being able to record an out. Jaden Kiddey pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief allowing 1 run on 1 hit with 2 walks and a strikeout.
Kiddey, Cunningham & Ethan Agnew each had a single for the Beavers as Ethan Agnew had the only RBI for Beaver Local.
The Beavers are now 4-13 on the season as they finish the regular season Thursday vs Struthers & Friday vs Wellsville. Both games are at home & are scheduled to start at 5 PM weather permitting. Beaver Local starts East District tournament play at Zanesville Saturday at 1 PM.
