SPARTANS STUN SALEM

BOARDMAN OH- Not too long ago Boardman was sitting at a record of 3-11 and people may have been forgetting about the Spartans. Well, you might need to look back Spartans, because they are starting to win again. On Thursday night one of the best division 2 teams in the area Salem came in to town. The Spartans upset the Quakers 51-50 in maybe the most thrilling game of the season.

After Salem jumped out to a 17-8 first quarter lead, Boardman outscored the Quakers 15-5 in the second quarter. The second half was dead even at 28-28, but the Spartans came out with the one point edge.

Seniors Raegan Burkey and Katie Stamp both paced the Spartans with 13 points each.

Kyla Jamison was the leading scorer for Salem contributing 13 points.  Abbie Davidson added 11 to the Quaker offense.
