SPRINGFIELD HALTS ROCKETS LAUNCH

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH- Springfield’s RJ Smith continued his push for one of the area’s top players on Friday night against MVAC opponent, Lowellville. Springfield would handle the Rockets 77-46 when the final buzzer sounded.

Smith chipped in a game-high 23 points while his supporting cast stepped up in a big way as well.  Alex Rothwell posted 17 points in the victory, Lukas Yemma scorched the net for 14, and Adam Wharry also finished in double-digits with 10 of his own.

For Lowellville, the fighting force of Anthony Lucente led the Rockets with 19.

Springfield will return to action on Tuesday to faceoff on the road against non-conference rivals, Poland.
