SPRINGFIELD OUTLASTS LIONS ON THE ROAD

Springfield took the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Minerva on Saturday. Springfield trailed 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning when an error scored two runs.

Springfield got things moving in the first inning, when Mitchell Seymour singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Minerva tied things up at two. Peyton Rich singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Adam Kawecki led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the Tigers. The bulldog went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking zero.

Kole Mayle led things off on the hill for Minerva. Mayle went six and a third innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one. Evan Barnes threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Springfield saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Seymour and AJ Stallsmith each managed multiple hits. Seymour went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

Rich led Minerva with three hits in three at bats.
