STATES WITHOUT AN NFL TEAM: WHO SHOULD THEY SUPPORT INSTEAD?

Despite having 32 teams in its league, over half of the American states don’t have an NFL team. However, this doesn’t stop them from enjoying the sport.

Betting on the NFL is a great way to increase your enjoyment of the game. You don’t need to have a local team to get involved in NFL betting – we can help you find someone to support.

Many Football lovers with no local team choose to support one a little further away from home. In this article, we will help you to find the perfect NFL team to support, even if your state doesn’t have one.

States that don’t have an NFL team:

The 32 teams of the NFL only cover 22 states. With some states like California and Texas being home to multiple teams.

That leaves 28 unrepresented states. Here they are and who you could support if you are from that state.

*Note – Connecticut,  Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont are all part of New England. Therefore these states are covered by the New England Patriots. But could support other teams based nearby.

Taking these teams out of the equation we are left with 22 states (and South Carolina).

Alabama

As a state in the South East, you have a few choices about who you can support. The New Orleans Saints are a great choice if you like winning. Otherwise, you have The Tennessee Titans or The Carolina Panthers

Alaska

There are four options for you Alaskans – The Washington Football team, The Seattle Sea Hawks, any team in the CFL, or any NFL team you like.

Arkansas

Who needs football when you have hot springs and beautiful national parks. The Tennessee Titans and The Houston Texans are going to be your closest option. Or you could support the New Orleans Saints.

Delaware

You have some of the best choices in the country, Delaware. Your closest three teams are The New England Patriots, The New York Giants, or the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hawaii

You guys have the pick of the bunch – support whoever you like.

Idaho

This may hurt you, but if you are looking to support a local team, your only choice is The Seattle Seahawks. Sorry.

Iowa

You have two obvious choices in Iowa – The Minnesota Vikings and The Green Bay Packers. Not too bad at all. If you want to stand out from the crowd you should support the Chicago Bears.

Kansas

You don’t have a state team, but there is a team that bears your name… The Kansas City Chiefs.

Kentucky

Pickings are pretty slim for you out in Kentucky. Your three best choices are The Tennessee Titans, The Cincinnati Bengals, or The Indianapolis Colts.

Mississippi

While there aren’t many teams in the South, the ones there are great. Your choices are The New Orleans Saints, The Tennessee Titans, or The Atlanta Falcons.

Montana

You could choose a team from the CLF if you were feeling brave. Or the Seattle Seahawks.

Nebraska

Kansas City Chiefs are your best option outside of college football. Otherwise, you could support The Denver Broncos. You also have a great Basketball team, so there aren’t many reasons for you to complain.

Nevada

The San Francisco 49ers are your best option. You may also want to consider The Arizona Cardinals or the Oakland Raiders.

New Mexico

You have three pretty strong options in New Mexico – the Dallas Cowboys, The Arizona Cardinals, or the Houston Texans.

North Dakota

There is only really one team close to you in North Dakota – so you could either pick any team or the Minnesota Vikings.

Oklahoma

Only a few Southern states have NFL teams – so your choices are the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, or the Kansas City Chiefs.

Oregon

You have a whole host of Weste Coast teams to choose from – The Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers are the obvious choices. You could also pick the Oakland Raiders.

South Carolina

You are technically covered by the Carolina Panthers who are based in North Carolina. However, many South Carolina football fans choose to support the Atlanta Falcons.

South Dakota

You’re in a very similar position to North Dakota – support The Minnesota Vikings or choose any other team that takes your fancy.

Utah

You have the choice of two teams – the NFL’s oldest, the Arizona Cardinals or The Denver Broncos. A nice choice to have.

Virginia

The Carolina Panthers or the Tennessee Titans are great choices for anyone in Virginia. You may also want to consider the Washington Football Team (formerly the Redskins).

West Virginia

In West Virginia, your choices are The Pittsburgh Steelers, the Washington Redskins, or the Baltimore Ravens.

Wyoming

Finally, Wyoming, your best option is The Denver Broncos. If that doesn’t appeal to you, you could pick anyone.
