STORM FALL ON WRONG END OF SLUGFEST

Steel Valley Storm lost the lead late in an 11-9 defeat to Cannons on Friday. The game was tied at seven with Cannons batting in the top of the sixth when Alayna Henry singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Steel Valley Storm collected ten hits and Cannons had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

Cannons got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Steel Valley Storm tied things up at seven. Sophia LaCivita drove in one when she singled.

Steel Valley Storm tallied five runs in the fourth inning. The offense in the inning came from a home run by Gretchen Bartels and a double by Ava Freeborough.

Marissa Pine led the Cannons to victory in the circle. The pitcher went six innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out four.

LaCivita took the loss for Steel Valley Storm. LaCivita allowed ten hits and 11 runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Steel Valley Storm launched two home runs on the day. Christina Montgomery had a homer in the sixth inning. Bartels put one out in the fourth inning.

Steel Valley Storm collected ten hits on the day. Freeborough and Sophia Rivera all managed multiple hits. Rivera and Freeborough each collected two hits to lead.
