JEFFERSON, OH- Despite allowing three runs in the third inning, the Lakeview Bulldogs defeated Jefferson Area 8-5 on Wednesday.
Lakeview got on the board in the second inning when Mariah Tackett homered count, scoring three runs. Lakeview took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Beady Titus‘s sac fly scored one run for Lakeview Bulldogs Varsity and Olivia Kelm drew a walk, scoring one run.
Raegan Schick earned the victory on the rubber for Lakeview. She allowed five hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Cait Kelm threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kelm recorded the last 11 outs to earn the save for the Lady Bulldogs.
Wilber took the loss for Jefferson Area. She surrendered eight runs on 17 hits over seven innings, striking out six.
Lakeview saw the ball well today, racking up 17 hits in the game. Schick, Kelm, Abbie Campana, Laura Garvin, Titus, and Tackett each collected multiple hits for Lakeview. Schick led the team with four hits in five at-bats.
