ATHETIX GET UPPER HAND ON PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Athletix had all the right moves on Tuesday night as they worked their way to a 8-3 win over the Prospects in 16U action.

Dominic Phillips had a massive day at the plate driving in 4 runs on a 2-4 effort.  He also scored a run. Brendan Ray also went 2-4 and his efforts drove in 3 RBI.  Gabe Saunders drew 2 walks and collected a RBI in the process.  Luke Gehring also had multiple hits going a perfect 2-2.

Konnor Brogan got the win on the mound for Athletix.  He went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on zero hits.  He did strike out 7 batters.

Luca Fronzaglio was able to collect 2 walks and get the only RBI of the day for Athletix. Carter Knupp had a 1-2 day.  Brian Litz walked and scored a run on the night.  Owen Boone also walked a scored a run.

FALCONS SOAR OVER DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- It wasn’t much of a contest between Astro Falcons and Dura Edge on Tuesday night in 16U action at Bob Cene Park. The Falcons made quick work of the night with a dominating 15-0 victory.

Evan Tice put on a show for the high powered Falcon offense going 4-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored.  Bo Fornataro went 3-4 on the night with another pair of RBI.  Jacob Hayes was a perfect 2-2 with 2 runs scored, and he added a RBI.  Grason Hooks also had multiple hits going 2-2 with a run scored and a RBI.  Marc Pieto went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI.

 

Shawn Kristophel was just as impressive on the hill for the Falcons he went 4 innings and gave up 0 runs on 2 hits. He struck out 8 and only walked 1.

Ethan Feezle was never retired going 1-1 with a walk on the day.  Carson Bish also collected a hit on the day going 1-2.  Charlie Young reached base with a walk as well.

BALLISTIC BLOWS THE DOORS OPEN

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic Baseball came into Tuesday in a log jam in the middle of the 16U standings of Class B Baseball.  They took a big step forward by dominating Eagle Wear 10-0.

The offensive barrage was led by Cameron Foy who went a perfect 3-3 with 3 RBI.  Dom Elia also knocked in 3 RBI on a 2-3 day.  Alex Yoder finished the day 1-1 with a pair of RBI.  Nikolas Kyprianou also had multiple hits going 2-3 on the day.  Anthony Roper drew 2 walks to gather a RBI.

 

Tyler Wright pitched the shutout. He finished with 5 innings pitched and gave up no runs on 2 hits.  He struck out 7 and only walked 1.

Jacob Jenkins wasn’t retired on the day firvEagle Wear. He went 1-1.  David Murphy got the other Eagle Wear hit going 1-2.  Nathan May drew a walk for the Eagle Wear offense.

KNIGHTLINE WALKS IT OFF AGAINST ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline found themselves trailing 4-3 heading into their final at bats on Sunday against Athletix.  They scored 2 runs Yo walk off into the night with victory 5-4.

Aiden Thompson owned the top of the lineup going 2-4 on the day with a RBI and a run scored.  Tyler Rarrick also grabbed a RBI for Knightline going 1-2 with a walk.  Andrew Brown was able to finish with multiple hits going 2-4.

Freddy Bolchalk went and got the win for Knightline on the rubber. He went 4.1 IP and gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits. He struck out 7 as well.

The Athletix offense was led by Tyler Wardle going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Brendan Ray also finished with multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Konnor Brogan hit in a RBI going 1-3 with a walk.

Ray pitched well despite the loss. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 7 and stayed away from any walks.

WHITING FIRMLY GRASPS FIRST PLACE

STRUTHERS OH- All summer in the Class B alibi Division of 16U, Creekside Fitness has been biting at the ankles of top ranked Whiting Roll-Offs.  However, on Sunday it was Whiting that kept Creekside at bay and stormed to a 8-2 win.

Nathan Craig managed a masterful offensive day going 2-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI.  Corbin Sevcik used the most of a 1-4 day with a RBI along the way.  Kallen Durbin also went 1-4 on the day with a RBI and also managed to score a run.  Aidan Leiendecker had multiple hits going 2-4.

Craig took the win for Whiting has he hurled 6 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 2 hits.  He struck out 9.

Tyson Tarajack did all he could on the offensive side for Creekside, he went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Brady Miller managed to put together a 1-3 day.

STORM FEELS SUNDAY MORNING BLUES

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Steel Valley Storm drew an 8:00 am start time on bracket Sunday in the Ohio Blast Father’s Day Classic.  They could never get the bats in full gear, and fell 4-2 in their first round matchup with the Lady Landsharks.

Gabby Goddard had a perfect day at the plate and came up huge with a 2-2 day and a RBI with a run scored. Gretchen Bartels was also perfect at the plate going 2-2.  Olivia LaCivita went 1-2 with a RBI.

Leah Habeger kept the team in the game the whole time. She gave up 2 earned runs on 7 hits in 5 innings pitched.  Her defense backed her up well, as she only struck out 1 hitter.

STORM BOLTS TOWARDS BRACKET PLAY

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Steel Valley Storm came ready to play early Saturday morning. In their only game of the day, and their last of pool play the Storm thundered to a 9-1 win over Fire Fastpitch.

Christina Montgomery was the biggest bat in the lineup. She went 3-3 with a grand slam, and 4 RBI.  Gretchen Bartels also went 3-3 on the day and she gathered a pair of RBI.  Leah Habeger played a great game, and went 1-3 at the plate with a RBI.  Gabby Goddard went 1-2 with a RBI.

Bartels also brought the gas in the circle. She completely shut down Fire Fastpitch’s offense. She threw all 5 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 2 hits. She struck out 6 hitters on her way to the win.

The Storm finish pool play at 2-1 and will be the 6 seed for Bracket Play Sunday. They’ll open their quest for a championship Sunday at 8:00am vs the 11th seeded Lady Landsharks

TORNADOES SWEEP UP STORM

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- In their second game of the morning for Steel Valley Storm, they came across the Ohio Tornadoes. After falling behind early 5-2, the Storm’s comeback efforts fell short in a 6-4 loss.

Leah Habeger led the offense with 2 RBI on a 1-2 outing.  Lilly Ditz grabbed multiple hits for the Storm going 2-2.  Christina Montgomery scored 2 runs for the Storm going 1-2 on the day.  Maddie Wymer walked and scored a run.

Ditz pitched the complete game for the Storm. After a tough first inning she battled back and gave the team a chance at the come back. She gave 5 earned runs on 5 hits. She struck out a batter.

STORM SHUTS OUT OHIO BLAST

NEW MIDDKETOWN OH- A new weekend means a new tournament for the Steel Valley Storm. They opened the Ohio Blast Father’s Day Classic with an impressive 4-0 shutout of Ohio Blast 05 Smith.

Gretchen Bartels continued her impressive summer campaign going 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBI.  Raegan Cool also collected an RBI for the team going 1-2 on the day.  Ava Freeborough also went 1-2 on the day with a run scored.  Maddie Wymer had the same numbers, 1-2 with a run scored.

Sophia LaCivita threw a gem with a shutout performance. She threw all 5 innings and gave up 0 runs on 5 hits.  She struck out 3.

DURA EDGE GETS THE LAST LAUGH

STRUTHERS OH- It was a barn burner on Thursday night in Class B 16U action as Dura Edge and Knightline traded blows left and right. With both offenses humming, it was Dura Edge that got the edge with a 11-10 win.

Ethan Feezle was tough to stop for Knightline pitching. He went 3-4 on the day and got in 3 RBI.   Carson Bish also collected multiple hits going 2-3 with 3 RBI.  Ethan Adam’s was productive going 1-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Angelo Fachet also went 1-3, he scored two runs, walked, and collected a RBI.

Knightline’s offense was just as impressive despite falling short.  Freddy Bolchalk had multiple hits going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Tyler Rarrick was right there with him going 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Knightline drew 7 walks as a team. Ross Harris walked twice and gathered a RBI.
