CREEKSIDE DRIVES HOME GAME 1 WIN

STRUTHERS OH-  In the Class B Baseball semifinals series in 18U, Creekside cooled off a red hot Knightline team in a 6-1 win.  It gives them a 1-0 lead in a beat of three series.

Zach Hyrb came up big for Creekside going 1-2 with 2 RBI.  Aidan Rossi was a huge part of the win in the lead off spot. He gathered multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a run scored.  Andrew Cupan also gathered multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Tyler Kamerer went 1-4 with a RBI.

Braeden D’Angelo pitched a masterful complete game. He only gave up 1 run on 3 hits and struck out 3.

The Knightline offense may have struggled, but Anthony Massucci did knock in a RBI.  Teagan McCurdy managed a 1-2 effort as well.

Gavin Shrum took the loss on the mound. He went 4 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and struck out 5.

WHITING ONE WIN AWAY FROM A CHAMPIONSHIP

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting is now one step away from a championship after their win in Game 2 of the Championship Series against Creekside.  2 runs in the top of the seventh gave Whiting a 6-4 win.

Aidan Leiendecker came up big for Whiting at the plate like he has so many times this summer. He went 2-3 on the day with a walk, a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Caison Holland had a nice day as well with a 1-2 effort. He drew a walk, and hit in a RBI.  Corbin Sevcik went 1-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Joey Pugh got the win on the bump. He went 6 innings and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He collected 3 strikeouts.

Creekside was led by Tyson Tarajack who went 1-2 with 2 RBI. Tommy Smith racked up multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.

Sam Landis pitched 6 innings on the mound and kept his team in the game. He was charged with 4 runs and gave up 6 hits.  He struck out 4 batters.

KNIGHTLINE CONTINUES WINNING WAYS

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline continued to win on Thursday night in another win or go home playoff game. They matched up with Athletix who they just beat the night before. They got their second win in as many nights this time by the tally of 4-1.

Mikey Sciortino was the most productive bar inside the Knightline order. He went 1-2 with a pair of RBI.  Chance Lazcko managed multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  Gavin Shrum was never retired going 1-1 with a walk and 2 runs scored.

Madden Boehm gave Knightline a solid start on the hill. He went all 7 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits.  He struck out 11 hitters while only walking 1.

Isaiah Torres collected the lone RBI of the day for Athletix. He went 1-3 at the plate.  Clay Mitchell grabbed multiple hits going 2-3.

Seth Cervello took the loss on the mound for Athletix.  He gave up 4 runs in 3 innings and struck out a hitter.

DURA EDGE KNOCKS OUT AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- It was all of the momentum that was on the side of Dura Edge in Thursday’s playoff matchup. Avalanche sat and waited for their opponent during the play in rounds, and Dura Edge won their way to this point. That ended up being key as Dura Edge got the big win upsetting the third seeded Avalanche 4-0.

Jack Kail was just one double away from the cycle as he went 3-3 with 2 RBI. Matt Luchovik went 1-3 on the day with a RBI.  Tommy Schubert went 1-3 at the plate with a run scored.  Parker Lyons also collected a RBI for Dura Edge.

Braden Gebhardt was masterful on the mound. He pitched 6 innings of shutout baseball, and only gave up 1 hit.  He struck out an eye popping 12 batters and only walked 2.

 

KNIGHTLINE TAKES A STEP TOWARDS PLAYOFFS

STRUTHERS OH- Because of the four way tie in the 18U Class B Baseball standings, play in games have to be used to decide who gets the 4-6 seeds. Knightline got a big 2-1 win in the first play in game against Ballistic, and is now one step closer to earning a seat in the playoffs.

Teagan McCurdy got one of the lone RBI of the game for Knightline as he went 1-3 with a walk.  Tyler Capan gathered multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored.  Chance Lazcko also grabbed multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk.  Ty Eberhardt walked 3 times and scored a run.

Lazcko was the starting pitcher and shined bright for Knightline. He pitched the last inning and only gave up a hit.  Jake Pappagallo went 7 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 1 hit.  He struck out 5.

Brady Harmon got both of the Ballistic hits on the day.  Nick Merola scored the run for Ballistic.  Colten Shaffer walked 3 times.

Will Morrow took the loss after throwing 5 innings and gave up 1 run. He struck out 3 batters.

DURA EDGE BRILLIANT ON THE BUMP

STRUTHERS OH- Pitcher’s duels are becoming more and more rare in the sport of baseball. With the advancement of offensive skills pitching is harder now of days. However Dura Edge and Knightline found themselves in a dogfight on the hill on Saturday night in Class B Baseball action.  Dura Edge came out on top 1-0.

Camden Sergi gathered the teams only RBI on the day for Dura Edge on a 1-3 day.  Jack Kail scored the run for the offense.  Nathan Rynd went 1-2 on the day, Caleb Jones did the same to finish up the 3 team hits for Dura Edge.

Braden Gebhardt brought his best stuff to get the win.  He gave up no runs on 4 hits in 5 innings pitched.  He was able to strike out 9.

Madden Boehm did not struggle at the plate for Knightline despite the impressive pitching from Dura Edge. He was a perfect 3-3.  Mikey Sciortino also managed to grab multiple hits going 2-3.  He also drew a walk.  Ty Eberhardt rounded out the team’s hits going 1-4.

Ronnie Harper was nails on the mound, and took the tough luck loss.  The run scored on him was unearned on 3 hits in the complete game. He struck out 4.

BALLISTIC TAKES THEIR SHOT AT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside Fitness was fighting for standing positioning in the 18U division of Class B Baseball. However, on Wednesday Ballistic Baseball took a shot at Creekside’s place in the standings with a dominating 12-2 victory.

There were a lot of big bats for the potent Ballistic lineup. Colten Shaffer was the most productive going 2-3 with 4 RBI.  Brady Harman was unstoppable going 4-4 on the day with 3 runs scored and a RBI.  Nick Merola went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Tyler Mack also went 2-3 and he scored a run, along with knocking in a RBI.  Will Morrow notched a 2-3 day with a run scored and a RBI.

Morrow also shined on the mound. He lasted 5.2 IP and only gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits.  He struck out 6.

It was a tough night offensively for Creekside. Zach Hyrb went 1-3 with a RBI. Braden Zeigler managed to put together a 1-2 day.  Aidan Rossi scored a run for Creekside.

PROSPECTS SLOW DOWN KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline 18U has been on a tear the last couple weeks in Class B Baseball. They’ve jumped from once standing in eighth place, to coming into Wednesday night at fourth. Prospects cooled them off though scoring 3 runs in the top of the seventh, and winning 5-2.

Jake Hettrick had a great day for Prospects. He went 2-4 with 3 RBI.  Gino Lazzari proved too tough to retire going 3-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Marco Massucci added a RBI going 1-2 with a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Matt Mroz got the complete game victory on the mound.  He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits in his 7 innings. He struck out 8 and only walked 1.

Madden Boehm was a bright spot for Knightline going 1-3 with a RBI.  Mikey Sciortino gathered the other RBI on the day going 1-3.  Anthony Massucci was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with a walk.

Jake Papagallo pitched most of the innings for Knightline.  He gave up 2 earned runs on 8 hits, and struck out 8.

 

LATE RUNS GIVE AVALANCHE ROOM TO WIN

STRUTHERS OH- It was a close competitive game in the 18U division on Wednesday night.  Avalanche had a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. Avalanche then scored three runs in the frame, which proved important. Whiting scored a pair in the top of the seventh which would have tied the game, but instead Avalanche still won 6-3.

Kenny Lavrich was key to Avalanche’s offense going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Hayden Scarnack went 1-3 with a RBI.  Lucas Cummings did the same. Nolan Reichard was never retired, he went 2-2 on the day.

Jaret Boyer threw well for Avalanche on the hill. He went 6.2 IP and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.  He struck out an amazing 13 hitters.

Sal Mineo was very productive at the dish for Whiting. He went 2-4 with 3 RBI.  He was responsible for the only RBI on the team. Ryan Telesz went 1-2 with 2 runs scored.

Isaac Librich pitched 5 innings for Whiting giving up 5 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4.

CREEKSIDE DOUBLES UP ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside gathered more and more momentum on Friday night as they are back to their winning ways. This time around they doubled up Athletix 10-5.

The offense was on fire for Creekside. Danny Flynn was one of the bigger bats in the lineup. He went 2-3 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Tyler Kamerer also went 2-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Andrew Capan went 1-4 with a pair of RBI.

Mark Bunch threw the complete game for Creekside and gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 5 batters on his way to the win.

Bayden Pipoly made the most of a 1-4 day with a RBI to go with it.  Seth Spooner was never retired going 3-3 with 2 runs scored.  Jeff Brenner added a RBI for the Athletix offense.
