KNIGHTLINE EARNS VICTORY IN PITCHER’S DUEL

STRUTHERS OH- Everything was magnified on Saturday in a matchup between Knightline and Whiting Roll-Offs in the 18U division.  Neither offense had much breathing room, but it was Knightline who came out on top 3-1 thanks to a two run 3rd inning.

Chance Lazcko got a big hit for Knightline going 1-2 on the day with a RBI. Anthony Massucci mirrored those numbers on a 1-2 day and a RBI.  Alex Grzyb collected multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored.  Gavin Shrum added a RBI to the cause.

Grzyb took the win, and the complete game on the hill. He pitched well, giving up just 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 10.

Sal Mineo had the lone RBI for Whiting. He went 1-3 on the day.  Cooper Vance put together multiple hits on a 2-3 showing.  Shane Roper went 1-1 and scored the only run of the day for Whiting.

Isaac Librich took the loss despite pitching quite well on the mound. He went 4 innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 4 batters.

FALCONS CONTINUE THEIR DOMINANCE

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons 18U team continues to be a puzzle that Class B teams can’t solve. Their latest conquest was a 14-0 smashing of Avalanche.

Devon Zirwas was the biggest bat in the lineup Friday. He went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.  Zach Herb went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a pair of RBI.  AJ Havrilla was electric as always going 2-3 with 2 runs scored, and a RBI.  Tino Campoli had a perfect day at the office going 2-2 with a walk, and a run scored.

Jordan Kolenda took the complete game win for the Falcons.  He gave up 0 runs on 3 hits in the 5 innings of work he put in.  He struck out 8.

James Zugai got a hit in his only official at bat going 1-1 on the day for Avalanche. DJ Donatelli went 1-2, and Michael Earman rounded out the offense going 1-2 as well.

CREEKSIDE KEEPS THE PRESSURE ON

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside has been on a roll as of late, as they looked to keep their great season going with a win over the Prospects. In 18U Class B action, Creekside came away with a 9-4 victory Friday night.

Caleb Hadley came up big at the plate and on the bases for Creekside, going  2-3 with a run scored, an RBI, 1 stolen base, and drawing a walk. Cam Lapinto also came up big at the plate. Lapinto went 1-2 on the day with 2 runs scored and drew 2 walks as well. Creekside scored 9 runs on 8 hits, and put up 3 RBIs as a team.

Zach Luciano got the win on the hill for Creekside. He went 6 IP with 4 earned runs on 8 hits. He finished with 5 strikeouts on the day.

Brandon Popio led the Prospects at the plate, going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and drawing a walk. Olindo Pezzone also had a great day at the plate, going 3-3 on the day with a double and a run scored. The Prospects scored 4 runs on 9 hits, along with 4 RBIs as a team.

Pezzone took the loss for the Prospects. He went 3 IP, surrendering 7 earned runs on 5 hits. He also finished with 3 strikeouts on the day.

QUICK START PUTS DURA EDGE AHEAD

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge once again fended off a late attack in a close matchup on Friday as they took on Athletix. In 18U Class B action, Dura Edge found their way to a 4-3 victory.

Parker Lyons and Braden Butler both led the way at the plate for Dura Edge. Lyons went 1-2 on the day with a run scored, and a walk. Butler also went 1-2 at the plate with an RBI. Dura Edge scored 4 runs on 4 hits, along with 4 RBIs and 5 walks as a team.

Guy Young got the win on the hill for Dura Edge. He went 5 IP with no earned runs on 3 hits. He finished with 8 strikeouts on the day.

Both Jake Polosky and Nathan Vidmar led Athletix at the plate. Polosky went 2-3 on the day with a run scored. Vidmar went 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Athletix finished with 3 runs on 4 hits, along with 3 walks and 2 RBIs as a team.

Riley McElwain took the loss for Athletix. He went 6 IP, giving up 4 earned runs on 4 hits. He struck out 7 on the day.

BALLISTIC BREAKS DOWN EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic Baseball put on a offensive gun show on Friday night in Class B 18U action. Their bats led them to a big 12-4 win over Eagle Wear.

Brady Gavula was the big bat on offense. He went 3-5 on the day with 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.  Nick Rogers put together a 2-3 day with a walk, and a pair of RBI.  Boys Kurtz also had a pair of RBI on a 1-4 day.  Will Morrow put together multiple hits going 2-4 with a RBI.

Dylan McElhinney got the win on the mound for Ballistic. He went 5 innings and allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits. He struck out 6 batters.

Thomas DePasquale had the big day for Eagle Wear. He finished 2-3 on the day with a walk, and a pair of RBI.  Stevie Rohan went 3-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Cole Grable went 3-4 as well with a run scored.

Aidan English battled on the mound for Eagle Wear. He went 4 innings and gave up 7 runs on 12 hits. He did manage to gather 6 strikeouts.

ASTRO STAYS ON TOP OF STANDINGS

STRUTHERS OH- It was all Astro Falcons in a one-sided matchup against Ballistic on Monday. In 18U Class B action, the Astro Falcons rolled to a 8-2 victory.

Brandon Coughlin was huge for the Falcons at the plate, going 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI. He also caused Ballistic some trouble on the bases with 2 stolen bases on the day. Nate Shaw also came up big at the plate and on the bases for the Falcons. It was a 2-3 day with a run scored, an RBI, and 2 stolen bases as well for Shaw. The Falcons scored 8 runs on 10 hits, and put up 8 RBIs as a team.

Ryan Petro got the win on the hill. He went 3 IP with no earned runs on 3 hits. He finished with 4 strikeouts on the day. The Falcons pitching staff allowed only 4 hits and 1 RBI all game.

TJ Border led Ballistic at the plate, going 2-4 on the day with an RBI. Ballistic managed to draw 3 walks, but struck out 10 times as a team.

Dante Micaletti took the loss for Ballistic. He surrendered 4 earned runs on 1 hit.

DURA EDGE FENDS OFF KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge fended off Knightline in a close, high-scoring matchup on Monday. In 18U Class B action, Dura Edge willed their way to a 11-7 victory.

Camden Sergi, Caleb Jones, and Anthony Butto all had a great day at the plate for Dura Edge. Sergi went 3-4 on the day with a run scored, and an RBI. Jones went 2-3 at the plate with 1 walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs. Butto went 2-4 on the day with a run scored, and 4 RBIs. Dura Edge scored 11 runs on 12 hits, and racked up 10 RBIs as a team.

Nathan Holt got the win on the hill. He went 5 IP and gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits. He finished with 6 strikeouts on the day.

Anthony Massucci led Knightline at the plate, going 3-4 on the day with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Knightline managed to also finish with 12 hits and drew 7 walks as a team.

Alec Grzyb took the loss for Knightline.  He surrendered 4 earned runs on 5 hits. He struck out 2 on the day.

FAST START ENOUGH FOR AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- A 3 run first inning set the tone for Avalanche as they stormed their way to a 7-3 victory over Prospects.

Jacob Mattocks went 1-3 on the day for Avalanche. He walked, scored a run, and drilled home 2 RBI.  Joey Fazzone went an impressive 3-4 on the day.  He also scored a run and collected a RBI.  Keith Smith also had multiple hits for Avalanche going 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.

Fazzone got the win on the mound as well. He lasted 6 innings and gave up 1 run on 8 hits.  He struck out 3 and didn’t walk anyone.

Prospects made a late rally but it wasn’t enough. Gino Lazzari was their big bat. He went 2-4 with a RBI.  Rafe Bonifay also had multiple hits on a 2-4 day.  Olindo Pezzone went 1-4 with a run scored and a RBI.

Andrew Kirilla took the loss.  He gave up 6 runs on 6 hits in 4 innings.  He struck out 5 batters as well.

ATHLETIX WIN A THRILLER

STRUTHERS OH- In a high scoring affair on Monday night it was the Athletix that landed the last punch.  They used a 5 run 5th inning to pull away, and then held off a late rally.

Bayden Pipoly proved to be a problem for Whiting pitching as he went 2-4 with a run scored.  He also knocked in a RBI.  Nathan Vidmar put together a good day as well going 1-4 with a RBI.  Sabastian Rosado-Guindin went 2-3 on the day with a RBI and a run scored.  Seth Spooner finished 1-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Rosado Guindin got the win on the mound throwing 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits.  He managed to strike out 10.

Christian Anterock led Whiting’s offense going 1-4 with 2 RBI.  Evan Levkulich also went 1-4 with 2 RBI on the day.  Nick Kingerski collected multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored.

Kingerski took the loss on the mound. He threw 2 innings and gave up 0 runs on 0 hits.  He struck out 1.

CREEKSIDE KEEPS PACE IN THE STANDINGS

STRUTHERS OH- With the domination of the Astro Falcons in 18U class B action, Creekside has felt the pressure to keep pace just a game out of the lead. They stayed in their place Monday night with a tight 7-6 win over Eagle Wear.

Caleb Hadley came up big for Creekside going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Andrew Salupo gathered another RBI for Creekside on a 1-2 day. He also walked and scored a run.  Braeden D’Angelo went 1-3 with a run scored.

Zach Luciano got the win for Creekside he threw 4 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 5 hits.  He struck out a pair.

Jack Desmond had a great day despite the loss. He knocked in 3 runs while going 2-4 with a run scored. James Campbell went 3-4 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Cole Grable reached every time he came to the plate. He went 2-2 with 2 walks and scored a run.

Jason Gruber pitched 5 innings for Eagle Wear.  He gave up 5 earned runs on 3 hits.  He struck out 7 batters.
