WENRICH LAUNCHES WALK OFF GRAND SLAM FOR MID ATLANTIC

STRUTHERS OH-

FTB Mid-Atlantic defeated Ohio Pitbulls Baseball 12-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. AJ Wenrich came to the plate in the 5th and launched a walk off grand slam to give Mid Atlantic the run rule win.

Wenrich led FTB Mid-Atlantic to victory by driving in four runs. Wenrich went 1-for-2 at the plate.

In the first inning, FTB Mid-Atlantic got their offense started when Eli Sutton drew a walk, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Ohio Pitbulls Baseball was a single by Jay Reichenbach in the second inning.

Max Mander was the winning pitcher for FTB Mid-Atlantic. Mander lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six. Ehrhardt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Joseph Ahmann took the loss for Ohio Pitbulls Baseball. Ahmann lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one.

Trent Youngeberg started the game for Ohio Pitbulls Baseball. The hurler lasted one inning, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out two

Zach Waino led FTB Mid-Atlantic with two hits in three at bats. They didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sutton had the most chances in the field with 12.

Reichenbach went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Ohio Pitbulls Baseball in hits. They didn’t commit a single error in the field. Youngeberg had four chances in the field, the most on the team.

ASTROS COME OUT ON TOP IN PITCHER’S DUEL

STRUTHERS OH- Both pitchers in Thursday’s NABF World Series game between Astro Falcons and the Brooklyn Bonnie Jays was a straight up pitcher’s duel. The Falcons were able to come out on top 3-2.

The Falcons scored first on a wild pitch. The Bonnie Jays then answered and tied the game 1-1.  It stayed that way for a couple innings until the Falcons took a 3-1 lead. Brooklyn then made it a one run game on a wild pitch.  The score would stay that way the rest of the game, both teams would let a couple scoring opportunities fall by the wayside.

Brian Pirone threw a complete game for the Falcons and struck out 12 hitters.  He only gave up 5 hits in his outing.

AVALANCHE STEAMROLL RANGERS

STRUTHERS OH-

Jaret Boyer had all the right stuff on Thursday for Avalanche, allowing zero runs and besting Lakewood Rangers by a score of 16-0 on day one of the NABF World Series.

Derek Franken collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Avalanche to victory. Franken singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the fourth.

In the first inning, Avalanche got their offense started. They scored on a stolen base during Isaac Criss’s at bat. Then Criss doubled , driving in one.

Avalanche notched 12 runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Logan Ayres, Cam Caldararo, Griff Richardson, and Mason Jones, doubles by Franken, Jones, and Criss, and a groundout by Richardson.

One bright spot for Lakewood Rangers was a single in the fourth inning.

Boyer was the winning pitcher for Avalanche. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one.

Will Hyatt took the loss for Lakewood Rangers. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 16 runs on 16 hits and striking out one.

Avalanche collected 16 hits on the day. Franken, Jones, Ayres, and Criss all had multiple hits. Franken led with four hits in four at bats.

ATHLETIX SCORE LATE TO SECURE VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH-

Athletix ran off with the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Troy Post 43 Legends to get their NABF World Series started on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Athletix batting in the top of the fifth when Nate Fleming grounded out, scoring one run.

Athletix earned the victory despite allowing Troy Post 43 Legends to score three runs in the first inning. Their big inning was driven by doubles by Carver and Martin and a single by Miller.

Troy Post 43 Legends opened up scoring in the first inning. Carver doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Athletix evened things up at five in the top of the fourth inning when Cam Hollobaugh grounded out, scoring one run.

Athletix notched three runs in the fourth inning. Their big inning was driven by a single by Ethan Shaw and a groundout by Hollobaugh.

Timmy Lewis was on the mound for Athletix. Lewis allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Polen was on the pitcher’s mound for Troy Post 43 Legends. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing two hits and two runs. Baileys, Barber, and Lemaster each contributed in relief.

Matt Lockwich, Shaw, Brady Hanson, Hollobaugh, and Ty Ventresco each managed one hit to lead Athletix.

Baileys led Troy Post 43 Legends with two hits in four at bats.

DURA OPENS NABF WITH DOMINATING WIN

STRUTHERS OH-

Ohio Pitbulls Baseball couldn’t keep up with DuraEdge and fell 7-1 on Thursday to open pool play in the NABF World Series.

DuraEdge scored four runs in the fourth inning. DuraEdge scored its runs on a triple.

Jake Corll was credited with the victory for DuraEdge. The hurler surrendered one run on four hits over three innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Alex Trivonovich took the loss for Ohio Pitbulls Baseball. Trivonovich allowed six hits and seven runs over three and a third innings, striking out two.

Shane Callahan went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ohio Pitbulls Baseball in hits.

DuraEdge tallied nine hits on the day. Zack Leonard  managed multiple hits. DuraEdge didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hanley had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

DURA EDGE WALKS OFF AND TAKES THE SERIES

ISTRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge earned their way into the next round of the 18U Class B playoffs with a tight win over Prospects 3-2.  The game was tied at 1 heading into the 6th inning. The Prospects scored a run taking a 2-1 lead into the 7th, but couldn’t hold on. Dura Edge scored 2 in the bottom of the frame to walk off into the next round.

Tyler Rekich went 1-2 on the day for Dura Edge. He scored a run, walked, and collected a RBI.  Garrett Donaldson, and Caleb Jones both went 1-3 on the day with a RBI.  Kris Scandy, and Nate Rynd both went 1-3 with a run scored.

Donaldson pitched the first 6 innings for Dura and gave up 0 earned runs on 4 hits.  He struck out 5.  Rynd was given the win after cleaning up the 7th inning.

Evan Pirtz went 1-3 for Prospects and knocked in his team’s only RBI.  Luca Bertolasio went 1-3 with a run scored.  Jeremy Kreuzwieser scored his team’s second and final run.

Shane Cato pitched well for Prospects but was the tough luck loser. He went 6 full innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 3 and only walked 1.

ATHLETIX WIN TWO IN A ROW TO KNOCK OUT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Athletix thrived under pressure on Saturday needing to win a double header in order to advance in the 18U Class B Playoffs. Athletix win the first game against Creekside 6-3 and then won the UF necessary game  12-8 to win the series.

Ethan Shaw had himself a day in game 1 he went 2-3 with 3 RBI, and then going 1-2 in game 2 with a run scored.  Jason Triveri knocked in a run in game 1 going 1-2.  Triveri walked twice in game 2.

Malakai Roberts pitched a complete game in the first game of the day and grabbed the win. He gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits and struck out 9.  Seth Cervello took the win in the series clinching win throwing 3 innings and giving up 0 runs on 1 hit.  He struck out a pair.

Jimmy Sadler had a nice day going a combined 3-7 with a couple RBI. Alex Gabauer went 1-3 in the 2nd game of the day with 2 RBI.  Brady Hansen went 2-3 in that game with a run scored.

Alex Havener took the loss in the first game recording an inning pitched and giving up 5 earned runs on 3 hits.  He struck out 2.  Nick Magnifico took the loss in the second game giving up 2 earned runs on 1 hit.

DURA EDGE SNAGS GAME 1 FROM PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge captured a big victory on Friday night securing game 1 6-2 and forcing the Prospects to win two games in a row tomorrow to move on. Dura Edge set the tone from the top scoring 2 runs in the top of the 1st and continuing to tack runs on as the game went on.

Nate Rynd went 1-3 on the day with a walk, and 2 RBI.  Parker Lyons, and Caleb Jones both went 1-3 with a RBI. Lyons also scored a run.  Kris Scandy went 1-1 with 2 walks, and 3 runs scored.  Ethan Hanley went 1-3 with a run scored.

Jake Corll pitched Dura to the game 1 win throwing a complete 7 innings and giving up 2 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 7 and didn’t walk a single hitter.

AJ Stallsmith went 1-2 with both of the Prospects RBI.  Evan Pirtz recorded multiple hits going 2-3 on the day.  He crossed the plate once.  Tino Multari went 1-3 with a run scored.  Sully Brown wasn’t retired on the day going 1-1.

Austen Price pitched on the hill for Prospects and was tagged with the loss.  He went 5.1 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits.  He struck out  6.

CREEKSIDE STAYS FIT IN CLOSE WIN OVER ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- It was a very competitive evening on Friday night as Creekside and Athletix locked horns in 18U Class B Playoffs. Creekside’s win put them ahead 1-0 in the series.

Clayton Blucher swung the pine with authority for Creekside. He went 2-3 on the night with 2 RBI.  Eric Chorba went 1-3 with a RBI, and a run scored.  Alex Gabauer also had multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Alex Duffalo went 2-3 as well.

Luke Savage pitched his way to a win on the mound. He went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 6 hitters as well.

Ethan Shaw went 1-3 on the day for the Athletix knocking in a run.  Clay Mitchell went 1-2 and also collected a RBI.  Malakai Roberts collected multiple hits on the day going 2-3 with a run scored.

Joey Barr pitched the whole game, but still came away with the loss.  He went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 6.

DURE EDGE ERUPTS IN THE FINAL FRAME

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge was in a tight spot heading into the 7th inning on Monday night. Trailing 4-2 in the final frame the Dura offense blasted their way to a four run frame, and held on in the bottom of the inning to win 6-5.

Kris Scandy went 1-4 on the day with 2 RBI for the Dura Edge offense.  He also scored a run.  Jared Malagise also went 1-4 with a run scored, and a RBI. Parker Lyons was s tough out, he went 3-4 on the day with a run scored.  Kyle Yost worked 2 walks, and scored a run.

Anthony Malagise took the win on the mound for Dura Edge. He went 2 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits.

Will Morrow, and Anthony Koulianos both went 2-3 on the day with a RBI.  Koby Zupko went 1-2 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Dylan McElhinney was tagged with the loss on the hill. He lasted an inning giving up 3 earned runs on 3 hits.
