BALLISTIC SALVAGES THE NIGHT

STRUTHERS OH- Ballistic leaned on pitching and just enough pop at the plate to take down the 3B Barons 5-2 in 16U play at Cene. Sammy Moritz ripped a double and drove in a run to help spark the offense.

On the bump, Jimmy Putko was dealing—four no-hit innings, no runs, and four punchouts to grab the win.

3B got a hit apiece from Kameron Miles and Antonio Quahliero, but couldn’t break through until late. Ballistic stayed in control and closed it out.

KNIGHTLINE FINDS THE EDGE

STRUTHERS OH-  Knightline pulled off a late push to edge out the 3B Barons 5-4 in a tight 16U showdown at Bob Cene Park.

Drew Chizmar did a little bit of everything—two hits at the plate and then came in to shut it down on the mound. He tossed 1 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits and fanning three to lock up the win.

3B made it a battle. Antonio Quahliero drove in a pair, scored once, and had two hits. Tyler Howarth added two knocks of his own, while Will Zwolenik put some juice behind a double and a triple, scoring once.

KNIGHTLINE FINDS WALK OFF MAGIC

STRUTHERS OH- In a tight one at Bob Cene Park, Knightline found a way to walk it off, edging the 3B Barons 4-3 in the seventh.

Jake Borsic came sprinting home on a sac bunt from Jordan Becker that turned into chaos—an errant throw sealed the deal and handed Knightline the dub. Eli Sounders ripped a double and came around to score, while Caden Ruby knocked in a pair to keep Knightline in the hunt late.

3B didn’t go quietly. Nate Rickel stayed hot with two knocks, including a double and a run scored. Joey Campoli mashed two hits of his own—one for extra bases—driving in two and touching the plate once.

PROSPECTS PLOW OVER BARONS

STRUTHERS OH-  16U action at Bob Cene Park saw the Prospects run wild in a 16-1 beatdown of the 3B Barons.

Quinn Schmidt led the charge with a three-hit day, driving in four and crossing the plate once. Jackson Stuart matched him with three knocks of his own, adding an RBI and two runs scored. Joe Kuchinski chipped in with two hits and scored twice as the Prospects lineup stayed hot from the jump.

On the bump, Nic Aho shoved for five strong innings—scattering four hits, fanning eight, and keeping the Barons off the board when it counted.

3B BARONS BUST THINGS OPEN

STRUTHERS OH- 3B Barons brought the lumber and the arm to back it up in a 12-2 blowout over Eaglewear in 18U Class B action at Bob Cene Park.

Joey Campoli was everywhere—raking three hits, driving in three, and touching home four times. Oh, and he also went the distance on the bump, spinning a complete game with 10 punchouts and just five hits allowed. That’s a two-way clinic.

Rory Pschirer chipped in with a pair of knocks, including a double, an RBI, and crossed the plate twice. Blake Scott ripped a double and brought one in as the Barons’ bats stayed hot all night.

Eaglewear got a couple hits out of Kyler Bourne, but that was about all they could get going against Campoli, who kept them guessing from first pitch to final out.

ASTRO FIRES UP THEIR NORMAL DOMINATION

STRUTHERS OH-  The Astro Falcons came out swinging and never let up, torching the 3B Barons 16-1 in a one-sided beatdown Tuesday night at Bob Cene Park.

Brodie Kuzior stayed hot, racking up two hits—including a double—while driving in a run and scoring once. Jacob Hayes brought the heavy lumber, collecting two hits and driving in four to help fuel the blowout.

For the Barons, Vincent Campoli was a lone bright spot, banging two doubles and picking up an RBI, but the bats just couldn’t keep pace with the offensive storm the Falcons brought to the yard.

NEWEST TEAM, LATEST CHAMPIONS

STRUTHERS OH- In a thrilling Game 3, the 3B Barons edged out Athletix 5-4 to clinch the 2024 18U Class B Championship.

Aidan Leiendecker led the charge for the Barons with three hits and a run. Nick Thomas added two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Nick Parrotto chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and a run. Kallen Durbin and Ben Miller each had two hits, with Miller also driving in a run.

Joey Campoli secured the win, pitching two innings and giving up one hit and two runs while striking out three.

For Athletix, Paul Gubba had two hits, including a double. Logan Cypher doubled and drove in two runs, while Tyler Wardle added a double and a run.

With this win, the 3B Barons are crowned the 2024 18U Class B Champions.

ANOTHER BARONS BARRAGE IN GAME TWO

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons jumped on Athletix early and never looked back, cruising to a 9-0 win to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the 18U Best of Five Championship Series. Nick Porrotto was solid on the hill for 3B, tossing five shutout innings, giving up just four hits, and striking out two while walking two.

CJ Frasco took the L for Athletix, surrendering five runs on ten hits over five innings, with four strikeouts and three walks.

Tommy Karoly was hot at the plate, racking up three hits and scoring three times for the Barons. Ryan Piekutoski added a triple among his two hits, driving in two and scoring a run. Aidan Leiendecker chipped in with two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored. Nate Thomas also had a pair of hits and crossed the plate once. Brady McGuire contributed with a hit, a run, and an RBI. Frasco managed two hits for Athletix in the loss.

Game 3 is set for Saturday, July 13 at 7:00 pm on Cene #1.

BARONS ROLL IN GAME ONE

STRUTHERS OH- In Game 1 of the Youngstown Class B 18U Championship Series, the 3B Barons dominated the Athletix with a 10-0 shutout. Tommy Karoly was unstoppable, racking up three hits and scoring three times. Ryan Peikutoski chipped in with two hits and drove in two runs.

On the mound, Corbin Sevcik was lights out, going the distance for a complete-game shutout. He scattered five hits and fanned six batters to secure the win.

Game 2 of the series is set for Wednesday, July 10 at 7:00pm on Cene 1.

BARONS HAVE NO TROUBLE GETTING INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons dominated Creekside with a 12-1 win in Game 2 of the series. Aidan Leiendecker led the way with two hits, three RBIs, and two runs. Brady McGuire was on fire, collecting four hits, including a triple, three RBIs, and a run. Kallen Durbin added two hits, two RBIs, and a run, while Luke Anderton chipped in with a triple and two runs.

On the mound, Nathan Craig was lights out, pitching four innings, giving up just three hits and no runs while striking out five. This win secures the 3B Barons’ spot in the championship series, which kicks off on Tuesday, July 9. Stay tuned for more action!
