NEWEST TEAM, LATEST CHAMPIONS

STRUTHERS OH- In a thrilling Game 3, the 3B Barons edged out Athletix 5-4 to clinch the 2024 18U Class B Championship.

Aidan Leiendecker led the charge for the Barons with three hits and a run. Nick Thomas added two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Nick Parrotto chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and a run. Kallen Durbin and Ben Miller each had two hits, with Miller also driving in a run.

Joey Campoli secured the win, pitching two innings and giving up one hit and two runs while striking out three.

For Athletix, Paul Gubba had two hits, including a double. Logan Cypher doubled and drove in two runs, while Tyler Wardle added a double and a run.

With this win, the 3B Barons are crowned the 2024 18U Class B Champions.

ANOTHER BARONS BARRAGE IN GAME TWO

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons jumped on Athletix early and never looked back, cruising to a 9-0 win to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the 18U Best of Five Championship Series. Nick Porrotto was solid on the hill for 3B, tossing five shutout innings, giving up just four hits, and striking out two while walking two.

CJ Frasco took the L for Athletix, surrendering five runs on ten hits over five innings, with four strikeouts and three walks.

Tommy Karoly was hot at the plate, racking up three hits and scoring three times for the Barons. Ryan Piekutoski added a triple among his two hits, driving in two and scoring a run. Aidan Leiendecker chipped in with two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored. Nate Thomas also had a pair of hits and crossed the plate once. Brady McGuire contributed with a hit, a run, and an RBI. Frasco managed two hits for Athletix in the loss.

Game 3 is set for Saturday, July 13 at 7:00 pm on Cene #1.

BARONS ROLL IN GAME ONE

STRUTHERS OH- In Game 1 of the Youngstown Class B 18U Championship Series, the 3B Barons dominated the Athletix with a 10-0 shutout. Tommy Karoly was unstoppable, racking up three hits and scoring three times. Ryan Peikutoski chipped in with two hits and drove in two runs.

On the mound, Corbin Sevcik was lights out, going the distance for a complete-game shutout. He scattered five hits and fanned six batters to secure the win.

Game 2 of the series is set for Wednesday, July 10 at 7:00pm on Cene 1.

BARONS HAVE NO TROUBLE GETTING INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons dominated Creekside with a 12-1 win in Game 2 of the series. Aidan Leiendecker led the way with two hits, three RBIs, and two runs. Brady McGuire was on fire, collecting four hits, including a triple, three RBIs, and a run. Kallen Durbin added two hits, two RBIs, and a run, while Luke Anderton chipped in with a triple and two runs.

On the mound, Nathan Craig was lights out, pitching four innings, giving up just three hits and no runs while striking out five. This win secures the 3B Barons’ spot in the championship series, which kicks off on Tuesday, July 9. Stay tuned for more action!

BARONS LOOK IMPRESSIVE IN FIRST WIN OF THE PLAYOFFS

STRUTHERS OH- 3B Barons took Game 1 of the Class B 18U semifinals series against Creekside, scoring all four of their runs in the 5th inning to win 4-2. Colby McGuire led the charge at the plate with a 1-2 performance, driving in two runs. Brady McGuire contributed with a hit, an RBI, and a walk, while Tommy Karoly and Nate Thomas each added a hit, a walk, and a run. Ben Miller chipped in with a hit as well.

On the mound, Zyler Freedman was solid, pitching five innings and allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out eight. Creekside’s offense saw Frank Senediak and Mason Petridis each drive in a run, with Eli Mandler and Derek Curry adding hits. Despite their efforts, Creekside couldn’t overcome the Barons’ big inning. Creekside’s pitching saw them go 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits with one strikeout.

AVALANCHE BOUNCE BACK TO CLINCH SERIES

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche took Game 3 of the 16U Class B playoff series with an 8-5 win over the 3B Barons. Will Beckert led the way with two hits, an RBI, and a run. Chase Mitcheltree came through with two hits and three RBIs, while Jayden Amos added a double, an RBI, and a run.

For the Barons, Treyton Ross had two hits and two runs. Derick Friedman was a standout with three hits, including a double and a triple, an RBI, and three runs. Ben Yeckel contributed two hits and an RBI, and Christian Anterock had a double and two RBIs.

This win moves Avalanche to the championship round, where they’ll face the Astro Falcons. Game 1 of the championship series kicks off on Sunday, July 7 at 4:30 on Cene 1.

BARONS FORCE A GAME THREE

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons dominated Game 2 of the 16U playoffs, routing Avalanche 11-1. Ben Yeckel led the charge with two hits, an RBI, and a run. Kolton Carlson was a force, racking up two hits, including a double, with two RBIs and two runs. Dante Taliani also had two hits, a double, an RBI, and a run. Tristan Blum was unstoppable with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs, and three runs. Derick Friedman added a triple, an RBI, and a run.

On the mound, Blum pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits and one run while striking out seven. Brodie Dewberry managed a double for Avalanche, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.

AVALANCHE AND BARONS LIVE UP TO POSTSEASON EXCITEMENT

STRUTHERS OH- Friday night’s Game 1 of the 16U semifinal series between Avalanche and 3B Barons was everything you want from postseason baseball. Avalanche snuck by with a tight 5-4 win, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Avalanche’s bats were on point, with Braden Burnette leading the charge by going 2-3, driving in 2 runs, and scoring once. Layne Rider contributed with a hit and an RBI, while Gabe Titus was perfect at the plate, going 1-1 with an RBI, a walk, and a run. Will Beckert added an RBI and a walk, and Dom Miller chipped in with a hit and a run.

On the Barons’ side, Rory Pischer had a solid game, going 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run. Blake Scott and Kolton Carlson each drove in a run, while Derrick Freeman went 2-3 and scored once. Christian Anterock also went 2-3, and Ben Yeckel was perfect at the plate, going 2-2 with a walk and a run.

 

BARONS WIN THEIR WAY INTO SEMIFINALS

STRUTHERS OH- In a tight play-in game, the 3B Barons topped Creekside 6-4. Rory Pischer contributed with two hits and a run. Ben Yeckel was a powerhouse, racking up three hits, including a double and triple, and driving in three runs. Kolton Carlson also had a big game with three hits, including two doubles, and scored a run. Tristan Blum added a double, an RBI, and a run.

For Creekside, Blake Burchill had two hits and scored twice. Eli Gough matched that with two hits and two RBIs, while Dane Barber added two hits, two RBIs, and a run. Bryce Covert chipped in with a double.

 

BARONS STAY IN FRONT OF THE STANDINGS

STRUTHERS OH- The 3B Barons dominated with an 11-1 win over Eagle Wear. Wes Conville led the charge with two hits and two RBIs. Aidan Leiendecker also had two hits, including a triple, and crossed the plate twice. Tommy Karoly chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and a run.

Colby McGuire had a big game, smashing a triple among his two hits, driving in three runs, and scoring once. Joey Campoli matched the energy with two hits, including a triple, adding an RBI and a run. Brady McGuire rounded things off with two triples and three runs.
