A2Z KEEPS ON ROLLING

A2Z had all cylinders firing on offense on Thursday, winning big over Avalanche 12-2

In the first inning, A2Z got their offense started when Matt Boccieri doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

A2Z tallied five runs in the third inning.  Their offense in the inning was led by Carson Bish, Matt Paparodis, Joe Aey, and Tyler Canfield, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Paparodis was the winning pitcher for A2Z. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.

Zach Livosky took the loss for Avalanche. He allowed five hits and five runs over two innings.

Danny Nittoli led A2Z with two hits in two at bats.

A2Z STAYS HOT AGAINST BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z grabbed an early lead on its way to an 11-1 victory over Ballistic Baseball on Thursday.  A2Z scored on a double by Matt Paparodis in the first inning.

Joe Aey was the winning pitcher for A2Z. He surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out two. 

Dom Elia took the loss for Ballistic Baseball.  He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out two.

A2Z scattered nine hits in the game.  Blake Jeffries and Aiden Thompson each racked up multiple hits.  Thompson and Jeffries all had two hits to lead.  A2Z didn’t commit a single error in the field. Chris Denney had the most chances in the field with five.  

Ryan Conti went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ballistic in hits.

A2Z JUMP AHEAD EARLY TO BEAT PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z jumped out to an early lead over Prospects and took home a 7-3 victory on Wednesday.  A2Z scored on a stolen base by Aiden Thompson, a walk by Matt Paparodis, and a single by Joe Aey in the first inning.

A2Z earned the victory despite allowing Prospects to score three runs in the first inning.  Prospects big inning was driven by singles by Caleb Hadley and Mike Condolen and a groundout by Carter Knupp.

Carson Bish led things off on the hill for A2Z. He allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five.

Cobey Airwikie toed the rubber for Prospects.  He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and three runs. 

Aey led A2Z with two hits in two at bats.

A2Z DECIMATES CSA

STRUTHERS OH- It was a blow out on Wednesday as A2Z ran away with a 18-3 victory over CSA. A2Z held CSA to just 1 hit. They scored 18 runs on 7 hits.

Carson Fuller had the only hit for CSA. He collected a RBI. Ethan Feezle has 2 RBI but no hits.

Aiden Thompson had a great day for A2Z going 2-3 with 3 RBI. Danny Nittoli went 2-2 with a walk and a RBI.

Thompson got the win for A2Z on the mound. He went 3 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 1 hit and striking out 5.

EASY AS 1,2,3 A2Z CLAIMS VICTORY OVER CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z blew out   Creekside 8-2 on Sunday.

A2Z fired up the offense in the first inning, they scored one run on a stolen base.

A2Z put up four runs in the fourth inning.  Batters contributing to the big inning included Blake Jeffries and Matt Paparodis, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Paparodis took the win for A2Z. He surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one.  

Tyson Tarajack took the loss for   Creekside. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four.

A2Z totaled ten hits in the game.  Jeffries, Carson Bish, and Danny Nittoli each collected multiple hits.  Jeffries went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

ROTH BROTHERS WALKS OFF A2Z

STRUTHERS OH-  

It came down to the last play, but A2Z was on the wrong end of an 11-10 defeat to Roth Brothers on Tuesday.  Roth trailed 10-8 in the bottom of the fifth inning when CJ Frasco doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Despite the loss, A2Z did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for them, Roth had seven hits on the way to victory.

A2Z got on the board in the first inning when Aiden Thompson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Luke Gehring led things off on the mound for Roth. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and ten runs while striking out five.

Joe Aey was on the pitcher’s mound for A2Z. He went two innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one.  Parker Dobson and Matt Boccieri entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Thompson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

Roth had seven hits in the game.  Dylan Casey and Gabe Saunders all managed multiple hits.

PROSPECTS RESPOND TO BEAT A2Z

STRUTHERS OH-

A2Z fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-3 loss to Prospects on Monday.  Prospects took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Prospects got on the board in the first inning when Freddie Bolchalk singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Bolchalk got the start for Prospects. He allowed five hits and three runs over four and a third innings, striking out six.

Joe Aey led things off on the hill for A2Z. He surrendered four runs on three hits over two innings, striking out one.  Hunter Swidzinski, Blake Jeffries, and Matt Paparodis each contributed in relief.

Danny Nittoli went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead A2Z in hits.

Prospects collected seven hits.  Kris Hrosar and Coby Airwikie all managed multiple hits.

NABF SOPHOMORE: A2Z TOO ATHLETIC FOR EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS, OH- It was an interesting day on the diamond for A2Z Athletics today.  The 14U powerhouse blasted through the first game as a pair of Youngstown teams squared off in the NABF 14U World Series as A2Z Athletics battled Eagle Wear.  A2Z won a crazy, high scoring affair 18-10.

Braeden D’Angleo picked up the win for A2Z, pitching five innings, allowing eight runs.  Connor Miller suffered the loss for Eagle Wear, giving up five runs without recording an out.  Anthony Magalise helped lead the offensive onslaught for A2Z, recording three hits, including an RBI double, and scored four times in the contest.  Jarrod Malagise had a double of his own among his three hits, scored three times and drove in a run.  Parker Lyons slugged two hits, one of which being a double, drove in three runs and scored two of his own.  Shane Lindstrom banged out two hits, including a two-run double, and scored twice while Carlo Battalini hit a two-run double in the win for A2Z.

JP Genova led the way for Eagle Wear with three hits, two runs, and an RBI.  Bryce Barringer hit a pair of doubles, drove in three runs, and scored twice while Joe Gentile hit a double and drove in three runs in the game.

14U: ASTRO FALCONS SWEEP CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

AUSTINTOWN, OH- It’s been a banner year for the 14U Astro Falcons in 2019, and now it’s official.  With a three-game sweep of A2Z Athletics, the Birds are flying high once again as 14U Champions of the Youngstown Class B League.

An early lead in the third matchup helped Astro defeat A2Z Athletics 8-3 on Sunday. The Astro Falcons scored on a double by Broc Lowry and a groundout by Gino Lazzari in the first inning.

Jack Knight led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Astro Falcons. He went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Braeden D’Angelo led things off on the mound for A2Z Athletics. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out one. Nick Kingerski threw five innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Astro Falcons 14U tallied seven hits in the game. Ben Slanker and AJ Havrilla all managed multiple hits for the Astro FalconsHavrilla and Slanker each collected two hits to lead the team.

Shane Lindstrom led A2Z Athletics with two hits in two at-bats.

14U: ASTROS TAKE COMMANDING LEAD OF CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WITH 5-3 VICTORY

AUSTINTOWN, OH- After a convincing 11-0 victory in Game 1 on Friday night, the Astro Falcons took to the basepaths on Sunday for another victory, this time A2Z gained some ground on their rival with a final of 5-3.

The game was tied at three with the Astro Falcons batting in the top of the fifth when AJ Havrilla singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

A2Z Athletics got on the board in the first inning. Jarrod Malagise drove in one when he tripled.

Astro Falcons scored three runs in the fourth inning. Astro put the pressure on, lead by a fielder’s choice by Jim Campbell and an error on a ball put in play by Seth Cervello.

Dom Fornataro was on the mound for Astro Falcons 14U. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four.

Anthony Malagise was on the pitcher’s mound for A2Z Athletics. He allowed nine hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out one.

The Birds tallied nine hits. Ben Slanker and Havrilla each racked up multiple hits for AstroHavrilla and Slanker each collected two hits to lead the Astro Falcons.  The Astro Falcons were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Havrilla made the most plays with ten.

Nate Rynd led A2Z Athletics with two hits in three at-bats.

Game 3 will take place at 3PM at Austintown Fitch High School.
