ASTRO JUMPS ON DURA EDGE FROM THE START

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons had no problems getting going on Saturday as they scored 7 runs in the first two innings to stun Dura Edge into submission. The Falcons came away with a 8-1 victory.

Ty Casciato was the big bat in the lineup this time around for the Falcons. He went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Luke Lambert went 1-2 with 2 walks, a run scored, and a RBI.  Luca Ricchiuti also had a strong day going 1-2 with a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Carter Beneigh earned the win on the hill for the Falcons. He lasted all 7 innings. He gave up just 1 run on 7 hits.  He sat down 6 batters on strikes.

Kyle Yost had multiple hits for Dura Edge. He went 2-4 on the day.  Zack Leonard was never retired going 2-2 with a walk.  Nate Rynd went 1-2 with his team’s sole RBI.  Kris Scandy went 1-3 scoring a run.

Garrett Donaldson was tagged with the loss for Dura.  He went 4 innings giving up 7 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 4.

FALCONS CRANK IT UP AGAINST CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcons looked as dominant as ever as they wasted no time dispatching Creekside on Saturday 10-3.

Jay Campbell had himself a day at the plate for the Falcons going 3-4 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Seth Cervello went 3-4 as well, he knocked in 2 RBI.  Kolton Ruark got 3 hits as well going 3-4 with a run scored, and a RBI. Bo Fornataro went 1-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Shawn Kristophel pitched his way to a win going all 7 innings on the bump. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and struck out 6.

Jack Davis and Paul Connelly both went 1-3 with a RBI on the day for Creekside.  Danny Flynn gathered multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  Andrew Sallipo, and Nick Magnifico both went 1-3 with a run scored.

Dylan Barrett was tagged with the loss on the mound.  He went 1.1 innings and gave up 1 run on 1 hit.

BIG FIFTH INNING LIFTS FALCONS

STRUTHERS OH- It was a tight game between Astro Falcons and Athletix on Thursday night, the Falcons had a 3-2 lead going into the 5th. However, a 7 run inning put the Falcons out of reach. They went on to win 12-4.

Bo Fornataro was huge for the Falcons offense. He went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI.  Drew Kaschak went 1-3 with another pair of RBI.  Kolten Ruark went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Jay Campbell went 1-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.

Jaden Rishel earned the win for the Falcons. He threw 6 innings and gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 7 and walked only 2.

The Athletix offense did a fine job against tough pitching from the Falcons. Tyler Wardle went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.  Dustin Smith went 1-3 with a RBI.  Gabe Saunders also collected a RBI on the day.

Logan Baxter was charged with the loss for Athletix. He gave up 6 runs on 5 hits.  He struck out 6 hitters on the night.

ASTRO A CUT ABOVE EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons had zero trouble on Wednesday night in 16U Class B action. They blasted their way to an impressive 19-2 win.

Dom Fornataro had a great day at the dish going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Shawn Kristophel also went 3-4 with 2 runs scored. He knocked in 1 RBI.  Seth Cervello was the most productive bat in the lineup going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.  Michael Patellis went 2-3 a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Drew Kaschak got plenty of run support but still pitched well for the Falcons. He went 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 1.

Sam Castronova was a bright spot for Eagle Wear. He went 1-1 with a RBI. Sam Barber also went 1-1 with a walk. JD Memo went 1-2 with a run scored. Evan Gilson mirrored those numbers.

FALCONS BLOW AWAY BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- It was all Astro Falcons on Tuesday in 16U Class B action. They hit and pitched at top level in a 11-0 whooping of Ballistic Baseball.

Jay Michael-Wrona was the big bat for the Falcons going 2-3 with 3 RBI. He also scored a run. Luca Ricchiuti had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2 with 3 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI. Seth Cervello also went 2-2 at the plate with a walk, 2 runs scored, and a RBI.

Jay Campbell threw a gem on the hill for the Falcons. He threw a complete 5 innings, giving up 0 runs on 3 hits and striking out 6.

TJ Border went 1-1 on the day for Ballistic.  Tyler Cunningham, and Colby Lewis both went 1-2 on the day. They both stole a base as well.

Dustin Coss took the loss on the mound for Ballistic he went 2 innings and was charged with 7 runs. He struck out a batter.

FALCONS BLANK BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- After throwing a no hitter on Monday, the Astro Falcons pitching staff in the 18U division kept rolling on Wednesday night shutting out Ballistic Baseball 6-0.

Chase Vrabel had multiple hits for the Falcons going 2-3 with a RBI. Aiden Kelly went 1-2 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. Jackson Hower also went 2-3 with a run scored, and he knocked in 2 RBI as well.

Tommy Beam was credited with the win on the mound. He went 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits. He struck out 12 without walking a single batter.

Although Ballistic’s hits were scarce, Koby Zupko went 1-2 on the day. Anthony Koulianos also had a 1-2 day at the plate.

Griffin Widrig was hit with the loss on the rubber for Ballistic. He went 4 innings and gave up 3 runs (none of them were earned) on 4 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2.

FALCONS WALK OFF AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS OH- It was a pitcher’s duel on tap on Wednesday in Class B action. Astro Falcons and Avalanche found themselves tied at 1 in the 7th but the Falcons were able to walk it off 2-1.

Kolten Ruark went 1-2 with a RBI for the Falcons offense. Michael Patellis also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Jake Schneider had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI. Bo Fornataro went 1-3 with a run scored.

Ruark was rewarded with a win for the Falcons. He threw 3 innings of no hit baseball. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Richie Preston had a perfect day at the plate for Avalanche. He went 1-1 with a walk and a RBI. Jake Mattocks and Peyton Koss both went 1-3.

Preston pitched well despite being tagged with the loss for Avalanche. He went 6 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits. He struck out 3.

FALCONS WASTE NO TIME BEATING KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH-It was all about the Astro Falcons on Tuesday night as they dominated Knightline 11-1 in their 16U Class B showdown.

Bo Fornatado was productive at the plate for the Falcons going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Jake Schneider went 1-2 with a walk a run scored and a RBI. Shawn Kristophel went 1-1 with a walk a run scored and a RBI.

Jaden Rishel was given the win on the rubber for the Falcons. He pitched 5 innings giving up 1 run on 7 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2.

Tyler Capan had a nice day at the plate for Knightline. He went 2-3 with a RBI. Santino Cambotti went 1-2 with a run scored.

Aaron Daughty took the loss on the hill for Knightline. He threw 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. He also struck out 3.

PIRONE NO HITS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Brian Pirone was running on all cylinders on Monday as he tossed a no hitter against Whiting Roll-Offs. The Astro Falcons gave him plenty of run support as well as they won 5-0.

Pirone also had a fantastic day at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored. He knocked in a RBI as well. Mike Carpenter went 1-2 with a RBI. Joe Roth went 1-3 with a RBI.

Pirone threw 7 innings of no hit ball. He struck out 11 and walked 4. He threw a total of 106 pitches.

Nick Vitale got on base twice for Whiting, he walked twice. Nick Osborne, and Luke Lamitina also walked once each.

Jake Vitale was pinned with the loss for Whiting. He went 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 3.

FALCONS BRING THE THUNDER

STRUTHERS OH- The Astro Falcon offense was rocking on Sunday against Whiting Roll-Offs. The bats were as hot as the temperatures outside, the Falcons cruised to a 17-7 victory.

There was plenty of good bats for the Falcons on Sunday, but Dom Cubellis really stood out going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Drew Kaschak went 2-2 with 3 runs scored 2 walks and a RBI. Anthony Triveri went 2-4 with a RBI. Luca Ricchiuti went 1-2 with 2 runs scored a walk, and 2 RBI.

Jay Campbell took the win on the mound for the Falcons. He last 2.1 IP giving up 7 ER on 5 H. He struck out a pair and walked 5.

Ben Herman was very productive at the plate for Whiting. He went 1-2 with a walk and a runs scored, and he knocked in 3 RBI. Mitch Lang also went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. He drove in a pair. Owen Keister went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

Keister was hit with the loss on the hill for Whiting. He threw 1.2 innings and gave up 5 runs on 5 hits. He struck out a batter and walked 3.
