X MARKS THE SPOT: ATHLETIX IS HOME FOR ALL ATHLETES

COLUMBIANA, OH- Patience is a virtue, and for the Wardle Family, their patience as well as their visions are going to pay off for local athletes in a big way.

Athletix since it was just a blueprint has stirred up the hearts and fired up the soul of sports in the Mahoning Valley.  The 46,000 square foot Sports Sanctuary combines state of the art facilities for nearly any sport you can think of, alongside technology that holds athletes accountable during each moment of the workout.

If you are still picturing your Average Joe’s Gym, you’re cheating yourself.  Athletix will also feature classes for families such as “Mommy and Me”, cheer/gymnastics, Top Golf Swing Suites, Batting Cages, a food and beverage center, and space for athletes to study and prepare mentally as well.

at the end of the day, Athletix, much like the athletes that train there will always be in a permanent stage of evolution.  With the leadership and vision of the Wardle Family, Athletix will certainly be home to some of the areas top athletes for years to come.

KNIGHTLINE CONTINUES WINNING WAYS

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline continued to win on Thursday night in another win or go home playoff game. They matched up with Athletix who they just beat the night before. They got their second win in as many nights this time by the tally of 4-1.

Mikey Sciortino was the most productive bar inside the Knightline order. He went 1-2 with a pair of RBI.  Chance Lazcko managed multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  Gavin Shrum was never retired going 1-1 with a walk and 2 runs scored.

Madden Boehm gave Knightline a solid start on the hill. He went all 7 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits.  He struck out 11 hitters while only walking 1.

Isaiah Torres collected the lone RBI of the day for Athletix. He went 1-3 at the plate.  Clay Mitchell grabbed multiple hits going 2-3.

Seth Cervello took the loss on the mound for Athletix.  He gave up 4 runs in 3 innings and struck out a hitter.

ONE BIG INNING PROPELS DURA EDGE

STRUTHERS OH- A crooked third inning of 6 runs was more than enough on Thursday for Dura Edge to hold off Athletix. Despite Athletix scoring 3 runs in the final 4 innings, Dura Edge still won 7-4.

Ethan Adam’s made the most of a 1-3 day knocking in 3 RBI.  Ethan Feezle also was productive with one hit as he went 1-3 with a pair of RBI.  He also scored a run.  Angelo Fachet was the only Dura Edge hitter with multiple hits. In fact, he was never retired going 2-2 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Charlie Young pitched 4 innings of great baseball. He only gave up 1 run on 1 hit. He struck out 6. Parker Dobson got the win, throwing 3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits.  He sent 5 batters packing by the way of the strikeout.

Joe Aey led Athletix bats going 2-4 with a RBI.  Luke Rohan also collected a RBI for the offense.  Dylan Casey went 1-3 for Athletix to round out their hits.

Matt Kay did all he could to try to give Athletix time to come back. He threw 4 innings of shutout baseball. He gave up 3 hits and struck out a pair.

CREEKSIDE DOUBLES UP ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside gathered more and more momentum on Friday night as they are back to their winning ways. This time around they doubled up Athletix 10-5.

The offense was on fire for Creekside. Danny Flynn was one of the bigger bats in the lineup. He went 2-3 on the day with a pair of RBI.  Tyler Kamerer also went 2-3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Andrew Capan went 1-4 with a pair of RBI.

Mark Bunch threw the complete game for Creekside and gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 5 batters on his way to the win.

Bayden Pipoly made the most of a 1-4 day with a RBI to go with it.  Seth Spooner was never retired going 3-3 with 2 runs scored.  Jeff Brenner added a RBI for the Athletix offense.

ATHETIX GET UPPER HAND ON PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- Athletix had all the right moves on Tuesday night as they worked their way to a 8-3 win over the Prospects in 16U action.

Dominic Phillips had a massive day at the plate driving in 4 runs on a 2-4 effort.  He also scored a run. Brendan Ray also went 2-4 and his efforts drove in 3 RBI.  Gabe Saunders drew 2 walks and collected a RBI in the process.  Luke Gehring also had multiple hits going a perfect 2-2.

Konnor Brogan got the win on the mound for Athletix.  He went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on zero hits.  He did strike out 7 batters.

Luca Fronzaglio was able to collect 2 walks and get the only RBI of the day for Athletix. Carter Knupp had a 1-2 day.  Brian Litz walked and scored a run on the night.  Owen Boone also walked a scored a run.

KNIGHTLINE WALKS IT OFF AGAINST ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- Knightline found themselves trailing 4-3 heading into their final at bats on Sunday against Athletix.  They scored 2 runs Yo walk off into the night with victory 5-4.

Aiden Thompson owned the top of the lineup going 2-4 on the day with a RBI and a run scored.  Tyler Rarrick also grabbed a RBI for Knightline going 1-2 with a walk.  Andrew Brown was able to finish with multiple hits going 2-4.

Freddy Bolchalk went and got the win for Knightline on the rubber. He went 4.1 IP and gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits. He struck out 7 as well.

The Athletix offense was led by Tyler Wardle going 2-3 with a pair of RBI.  Brendan Ray also finished with multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Konnor Brogan hit in a RBI going 1-3 with a walk.

Ray pitched well despite the loss. He went 5 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 7 and stayed away from any walks.

ASTRO FALCONS KEEP THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS

STRUTHERS OH- The first place Astro Falcons completely flexed their muscles on Friday night dominating their way to a 10-0 victory over Athletix.

Tino Campoli led the charge for the Falcons bar going 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Ben Slanker was perfect at the plate going 2-2 scoring 3 runs, and hitting a RBI. Brandon Coughlin also had multiple hits on the day going 2-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Landon Beidelschies pitched his way to a victory. He dazzled in his 4 innings of work. He gave up 0 runs on just 1 hit. He struck out 7 batters.

Isaiah Torres got the only hit of the day for Athletix. He went 1-2.  Bayden Pipoly and Alex Nicholson both  drew a walk.

ATHLETIX SURGE AHEAD


STRUTHERS OH- A late 6th inning surge was the key for Athletix as they came away with the win Monday night over Ballistic. In 18U Class B action, Athletix walked away with a 7-2 victory.

Nathan Vidmar, Clay Mitchell, and Isaiah Torres all led Athletix at the plate. Vidmar went 3-4 on the day with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Mitchell went 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Torres finished 2-2 with an RBI and 2 walks. Athletix finished with 7 runs on 11 hits, along with 6 RBIs and 8 walks as a team.

Jack Leipheimer got the win on the hill for Athletix. He went 6 IP, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits. He finished with 4 strikeouts on the day.

Both Tyler Cunningham and Will Morrow led Ballistic at the plate. Cunningham went 2-2 on the day with an RBI. Morrow went 2-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Ballistic finished with 2 runs on 7 hits, and an RBI as a team.

Morrow took the loss for Ballistic. He went 3 IP, giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4 on the day.

QUICK START PUTS DURA EDGE AHEAD

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge once again fended off a late attack in a close matchup on Friday as they took on Athletix. In 18U Class B action, Dura Edge found their way to a 4-3 victory.

Parker Lyons and Braden Butler both led the way at the plate for Dura Edge. Lyons went 1-2 on the day with a run scored, and a walk. Butler also went 1-2 at the plate with an RBI. Dura Edge scored 4 runs on 4 hits, along with 4 RBIs and 5 walks as a team.

Guy Young got the win on the hill for Dura Edge. He went 5 IP with no earned runs on 3 hits. He finished with 8 strikeouts on the day.

Both Jake Polosky and Nathan Vidmar led Athletix at the plate. Polosky went 2-3 on the day with a run scored. Vidmar went 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Athletix finished with 3 runs on 4 hits, along with 3 walks and 2 RBIs as a team.

Riley McElwain took the loss for Athletix. He went 6 IP, giving up 4 earned runs on 4 hits. He struck out 7 on the day.

ATHLETIX WALK OFF EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS, OH- The Athletix and Eagle Wear faced off in the 18-year old division on Wednesday night at Bob Cene Park. There we’re two late lead changes in the ballgame, but Athletix came away with an extra inning victory.

Eagle Wear got off to a great start in the second inning, plating the first run with a lead off double from Thomas DePasquale, and then an RBI by Bret Brown. Eagle Wear got back on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI double by first baseman Bronson Ferencak. Later on in the sixth inning, the Athletix came alive with 2 runs to tie the ballgame on a bases clearing double by Stephen Tarnoci.

In the top half of the seventh inning, Eagle Wear scored 1 run on an error, but Athletix came right back with a sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the inning by Seth Cervello to force extra innings. In the bottom half of the eight inning, Ethan Mannion led it off with a single, and then was plated on a game winning single into center by Sebastian Rosado-Guindin.

Alex Nicholson got the win for Athletix on the mound, after tossing 4 innings out of the pen, while striking out 4 batters and giving up just 1 run. Athletix is back to .500 at 4-4 on the campaign. Eagle Wear drops to 1-8.
