WHITING DOUBLES UP ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- It was a good day for Whiting Roll-Offs as they doubled up Athletix for an impressive 10-5 victory.

Nick Thomas was a massive positive sign for Whiting. He went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and 4 RBI.  Nate Thomas went 2-3 as well.  He walked, scored a run, and knocked in a RBI.  Aidan Leiendecker went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.

Isaac Barry pitched well on the mound for Whiting. He threw 4 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits.   He struck out 5 while avoiding any walks.

 

Danny Nitolli led Athletix offense going 3-3 with a run scored and a RBI.  Ben Wilcox went 2-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Matt Kay finished 1-3 with a RBI. Aiden Dominguez also contributed a 1-2 day with a walk and a run scored.

 

CREEKSIDE BREAKS THROUGH LATE

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside Fitness scored most of their runs in the later innings on Sunday as they came out on top against Athletix in 18U Class B action.

Braden Zeigler put together a solid day for Creekside at the plate. He went 2-3 with a RBI and 2 runs scored.  Zach Luciano also had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI.  Tyler Kamerer led Creekside in hits going 3-4 adding a RBI to his day as well.

Nick Magnifico was awarded the win on the bump. He threw 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and striking out 4.

Seth Cervello went 1-2 at the plate for Athletix with a RBI.  Bayern Pipoly gathered multiple hits on the day going 2-3 with a walk and 3 runs scored.  Clay Mitchell went 1-3 with a RBI.

 

NABF SENIOR DIVISION ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM

STRUTHERS OH- Last week, the NABF Senior division Workd Series wrapped up with the Brooklyn Bonnie Jays taking the title. With a week full of talented athletes shining on the biggest level, many players were named to the All-Tournament team, and we have the list for you.

ATHLETIX GRAB A PAIR OF WINS ON A SUNDAY

STRUTHERS OH- The Athletix were easy like a Sunday morning as they swept a twin bill in NABF action. They beat Diamond Hit Club 11-4, and then they took care of the Lincoln Park Rails 8-1.

Athletix snagged a late lead and defeated Diamond Hit Club 11-4 on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Athletix batting in the top of the eighth when Jason Triveri doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Diamond Hit Club scored three runs in the first inning, but Athletix still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Diamond Hit Club came thanks to singles by DeCicco and Trey Decicco and a groundout by Zach Dellerman.

Athletix captured the lead in the second inning. Cam Hollobaugh singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the third inning, Diamond Hit Club tied things up at four when Dellerman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Brady Hanson got the win for Athletix. The fireballer allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Steve Zordich threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Alex Heavner started the game for Athletix. The hurler lasted six innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out 13 and walking one

Athletix collected 12 hits. Malakai Roberts, Hollobaugh, Eli Harpalani, and Ethan Shaw all managed multiple hits. Shaw, Harpalani, Hollobaugh, and Roberts all had two hits to lead.

Hunter Burns went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Diamond Hit Club in hits.

In Game 2, Roberts went 4-4 with 2 RBI. Cam Hollobaugh went 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Matt Lockwich went 1-2 with a run, and a RBI. Ty Ventresco mirrored those numbers going 1-2 with a runs scored, and a RBI.

Alex Tomsic took the win on the mound in Game 2. He struck out 7 and pitched a shutout.

ATHLETIX SCORE LATE TO SECURE VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH-

Athletix ran off with the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Troy Post 43 Legends to get their NABF World Series started on Thursday. The game was tied at five with Athletix batting in the top of the fifth when Nate Fleming grounded out, scoring one run.

Athletix earned the victory despite allowing Troy Post 43 Legends to score three runs in the first inning. Their big inning was driven by doubles by Carver and Martin and a single by Miller.

Troy Post 43 Legends opened up scoring in the first inning. Carver doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Athletix evened things up at five in the top of the fourth inning when Cam Hollobaugh grounded out, scoring one run.

Athletix notched three runs in the fourth inning. Their big inning was driven by a single by Ethan Shaw and a groundout by Hollobaugh.

Timmy Lewis was on the mound for Athletix. Lewis allowed eight hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Polen was on the pitcher’s mound for Troy Post 43 Legends. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing two hits and two runs. Baileys, Barber, and Lemaster each contributed in relief.

Matt Lockwich, Shaw, Brady Hanson, Hollobaugh, and Ty Ventresco each managed one hit to lead Athletix.

Baileys led Troy Post 43 Legends with two hits in four at bats.

ATHLETIX WIN TWO IN A ROW TO KNOCK OUT CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- The Athletix thrived under pressure on Saturday needing to win a double header in order to advance in the 18U Class B Playoffs. Athletix win the first game against Creekside 6-3 and then won the UF necessary game  12-8 to win the series.

Ethan Shaw had himself a day in game 1 he went 2-3 with 3 RBI, and then going 1-2 in game 2 with a run scored.  Jason Triveri knocked in a run in game 1 going 1-2.  Triveri walked twice in game 2.

Malakai Roberts pitched a complete game in the first game of the day and grabbed the win. He gave up 1 earned run on 6 hits and struck out 9.  Seth Cervello took the win in the series clinching win throwing 3 innings and giving up 0 runs on 1 hit.  He struck out a pair.

Jimmy Sadler had a nice day going a combined 3-7 with a couple RBI. Alex Gabauer went 1-3 in the 2nd game of the day with 2 RBI.  Brady Hansen went 2-3 in that game with a run scored.

Alex Havener took the loss in the first game recording an inning pitched and giving up 5 earned runs on 3 hits.  He struck out 2.  Nick Magnifico took the loss in the second game giving up 2 earned runs on 1 hit.

CREEKSIDE STAYS FIT IN CLOSE WIN OVER ATHLETIX

STRUTHERS OH- It was a very competitive evening on Friday night as Creekside and Athletix locked horns in 18U Class B Playoffs. Creekside’s win put them ahead 1-0 in the series.

Clayton Blucher swung the pine with authority for Creekside. He went 2-3 on the night with 2 RBI.  Eric Chorba went 1-3 with a RBI, and a run scored.  Alex Gabauer also had multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Alex Duffalo went 2-3 as well.

Luke Savage pitched his way to a win on the mound. He went 5 innings and gave up 2 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 6 hitters as well.

Ethan Shaw went 1-3 on the day for the Athletix knocking in a run.  Clay Mitchell went 1-2 and also collected a RBI.  Malakai Roberts collected multiple hits on the day going 2-3 with a run scored.

Joey Barr pitched the whole game, but still came away with the loss.  He went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits.  He struck out 6.

ATHLETIX MAKE IT TWO WINS ON THE DAY

STRUTHERS OH- It was a good Saturday for the Athletix 18U team as they picked up a pair of wins. Their second win of the day came in dramatic fashion at the hands of Whiting Roll-Offs 4-3. The Athletix scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to walk it off.

Cam Hollobaugh came up huge for the Athletix offense going 2-4 and knocking in all 3 of the team’s RBI.  Hollobaugh also scored a run. LJ Evans went 1-3 with a run scored.  Ty Ventresco collected multiple hits going 2-3.

Malakai Roberts took the win on the bump for the Athletix pitching 2 innings and giving up 0 runs on 1 hit.  He struck out 4.

Tyler Kamerer was the big bat for Whiying going 2-4 on the day with a run scored, and a RBI.  Gabe Yanssens went 1-2 with a RBI.  Benny Dottle also had multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk, and a run scored.

Tim Lewis took the tough loss on a day of good work. He pitched 6.2 innings and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits.  He struck out 3.

ATHLETIX WIN PITCHER’S DUEL

STRUTHERS OH- Scoring was at a premium on Saturday between Athletix and Ballistic Baseball. One run was enough to carry Athletix to a strong 1-0 victory.

Ty Ventresco went 1-2 for Athletix and picked up the only RBI of the game. He also walked on the day. LJ Evans went 1-2 with a walk, and he crossed the plate for his team’s only run.  The Athletix offense did work 7 walks.

Malakai Roberts took the win on the rubber.  He went 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits.  He struck out 4.

Griffin Widrig collected Ballistic’s only hit of the day going 1-3.  Luke Leonard didn’t have an official at bat going 0-0 with a walk.  Will Morrow also collected a walk.

Dawson Morrow took the loss even though he put together a strong effort. He lasted 2 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit.  He struck out a pair.

ATHLETIX CUT DOWN PROSPECTS

STRUTHERS OH- The rain halted most of the action at Cene Park on Tuesday night, but the Athletix and Prospects were able to complete a game. The Athletix came from behind to grab a 9-6 victory.

Cam Hollobaugh went off at the plate going 2-3 with 4 RBI.  LJ Evans had a perfect day at the dish going 3-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.  Ty Ventresco also went without being retired going 1-1 with 2 walks, and 2 runs scored.  Malakai Roberts went 1-3 with a run scored.

Steven Zordich picked up the win for Athletix lasting 4 innings giving up 6 runs on 10 hits.  He struck out a pair.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser had a great day for the Prospects despite the loss. He went 2-2 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Michael Galterio also went 2-2 on the day. He scored 3 runs and walked.  Shane Cato went 1-2 with 2 RBI.

AJ Stallmith was charged with the loss for Prospects. He threw 4 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 9 hits. He struck out 4.
