AVALANCHE HOLD ON TO WIN THE TITLE

STRUTHERS OH-  Avalanche held off Whiting late in Game 5 on Tuesday night to win the 16U championship following an exciting 8-7 finish.

Avalanche started off hot with a pair of RBIs from Rocky Serafino and Nick Solderich in the first inning and a three-run homer from Serafino in the second inning to jump out to an early 5-0 lead.

Whiting got on the board in the third inning off an RBI single from Ryan Rebholz that scored two and added another run in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 5-3.

Avalanche responded by scoring one run a piece in the next three innings to take a resounding 8-3 lead after six innings.

Whiting did not go down without a fight, as they scored four runs in the seventh inning, including an RBI single from RJ Kissick that scored two runs and cut the deficit to one.

Landon Whippo, who was called on to relief pitch in the sixth inning, was able to pull through for the Avalanche and strike out Tyler Houk with a runner on first and two outs to seal the deal.

Rocky Serafino picked up the win on the mound for the Avalanche, allowing three runs on three hits in four innings. He also had four strikeouts.

AVALANCHE PLAY THEIR WAY TO A SERIES AGAINST THE ASTRO FALCONS

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche just snuck by Creekside Fitness 9-8 in the 18U playoff play-in this evening at Bob Cene Park.

The Avalanche were led at the plate by Hayden Scarmack, Jack Strausser, Michael Earman, Nolan Reichard, Jacob Mattocks, and Soren Hedderick, who all had 2 or more hits.

Creekside was led at the plate by Jake Patterson, who went 3 for 4, Braeden D’Angelo, and Hank Shaffer, who both went 2 for 4. Jacob Mattocks was also the winning pitcher of the evening as he allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts. 

AVALANCHE EARNS THE WIN IN A TIGHT GAME 1

STRUTHERS OH- The 16U playoffs at Bob Cene Park started off with a thriller on Friday night. After weather dampened the originally scheduled start, Friday made the wait worth it. Avalanche got the best of the Astro Falcons in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Kayden Mayhew had a clutch at bat for the Avalanche as he went 1-2 with a RBI.  Grayson Eicher was perfect at the plate all day as he went 2-2 with a RBI and a walk.  Joey Cidila also had multiple hits for Avalanche going 2-3.

Maddox Bell picked up the win on the bump for Avalanche. He went toe to toe in a high stress game. He lasted 3 innings and gave up 2 hits and 0 runs. He struck out 6 hitters.

Chandler Maurice picked up the only RBI of the day for the Falcons. He collected a 1-3 day.  Rowan Urbach also went 1-3 on the day for their offense.

Carson Klase pitched well despite the loss for the Astro Falcons. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 9 hits.  He sat down 6 hitters.

AVALANCHE BURN THROUGH EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche had a good outing Tuesday night at Bob Cene Park as they took down Eagle Wear 14-3.

At the plate, the Avalanche were led by Maddox Bell and Landon Whippo, who both went 2 for 4. David Moyer also knocked two hits in and scored two runs to help the Avalanche to victory.

Cole Gamertsfelder was the losing pitcher of the evening as he allowed five runs on five hits with four strikeouts. Peyton Ryhal was the winning pitcher of the evening as he allowed one run with three hits and sat down six batters at the plate. 

AVALANCHE MAKE ALL THE PLAYS

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche had a good outing Sunday at Bob Cene Park as they picked up a win against the Prospects by a score of 8-2.

The Avalanche were led at the plate by Nick Solderich and Noah Philson, who went 3 for 3, and Ivan Rudiak, Kayden Mayhew, and Rocky Serafino, who all went 2 for 3.

The winning pitcher of the evening was Evan Reiser, who allowed just three hits and had one strikeout.

AVALANCHE JUMP INTO FIRST PLACE

STRUTHERS OH- Their is a log jam at the top of the 16U division in Class B Baseball. That made Tuesday nights game between Avalanche and Astro Falcons carry a lot of weight.  With the Avalanche trailing by a half game coming in, they knew a win would sit them at the top of the standings. The win is exactly what they got, the Avalanche outlasted the Astro Falcons in 10 innings and secured a 5-4 victory.

Landon Whippo earned a multiple hit day for Avalanche going 2-3 with a RBI.  Rocky Serafino was a thorn in the side of the Astro Falcons going 3-4 with 1 RBI.  Owen Dye wasn’t to be overshadowed as he went 2-4 with a RBI.

Maddox Bell earned the win on the mound pitching 5 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits. He struck out 6 hitters.

Will Petty was perfect at the plate for the Falcons going 1-1 with a RBI.  Bryson Zirwas was the only other RBI for the Falcons offense on a 1-3 day.  Rowan Urbach collected multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored.

SCORING IS NO PROBLEM FOR THE AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In what was a high scoring game, the Avalanche just snuck by Ballistic Baseball 10-9 Thursday at Bob Cene Park.

Ballistic was led by Taggart Carfangia, who went 4 for 4, Owen Gazda, who went 3 for 4, and Kyle Gilson, who went 2 for 4 at the plate. The Avalanche were led by Landon Whippo, who went 3 for 4 and by Tanner Turosky, who went 2 for 3.

Noah Philson was the winning pitcher of the nigh as he allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts. Kyle Gilson was also the losing pitcher of the evening as he allowed three runs on five hits with one strikeout. 

AVALANCHE TURN IN GRADE A PERFORMANCE

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche ran away Saturday evening at Bob Cene Park as they topped the Atheltix 15-3.

The Avalanche was led by Kyle Hurley, who went 2 for 5 and scored 2 runs. Zach Pleska led the Athletix at the plate going 2 for 2 in the losing effort.

Tyson Djakovich was the winning pitcher of the evening allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. The losing pitcher of the evening was Riley McElwain, who allowed nine runs on four hits with five strikeouts. 

AVALANCHE RUN THE SATURDAY SHOW

STRUTHERS OH- Avalanche worked hard on Saturday to earn a close 4-3 win in 16U Class B action at Bob Cene Park.

The Avalanche only had 1 RBI in their lineup despite scoring 4 runs. It came from Rocky Serafino went 2-3 on the day.  He also scored a run.  Kayden Mayhew had a perfect day at the plate going 2-2.  Owen Dye was also never retired on a 1-1 effort.

Noah Anzevino got the win on the mound for Avalanche. He went 4.2 IP and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and struck out 5.

Anthony Pastella went 1-3 on the day for Knightline with a RBI.  Christian Haught also went 1-3 with a RBI.  Rocco Diflorio scored a run on a 1-3 outing.

Bradley Quinby went the distance for Knightline on the bump.  He gave up 3 earned runs in his 7 innings of work. He sat down 5 hitters and walked a pair.

AVALANCHE LIGHT THINGS UP

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche got the best out of Athletix as they topped them 7-3 tonight at Bob Cene Park.

The Avalanche was led Ivan Rudiak and Jason Malley, who both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Ben Herrmann got the win on the mound allowing two runs on three hits with four strikeouts.

The losing pitcher of the day was Dylan Simpson, who allowed four runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
