BADGER BRINGS THE BOOM

ASHTABULA, OHIO- The Badger Braves traveled on the road to take on the St. John Heralds. The Heralds gave the Braves a tough battle during the first half as they trailed the Braves by a score of 32-26. Duncan Moy, who only had 2 points in the second quarter went off in the 2nd half and finished the game with 40 points. Cole Burnett had another solid night with 12 points, as the Braves pulled away and beat the Heralds 65-43.

The Braves will be back at home on Tuesday to take on the Maplewood Rockets.

BRAVES EARN A SHOT AT THE TITLE

KINSMAN, OHIO- The Lady Braves were back in action tonight against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers. The game was back and forth all night long as the Braves had productive nights from Katie Grexa and as well as Hannah Betts. Grexa finished the night with 12 points and Betts finished with 10.

The Braves were trailing late in the fourth quarter, but managed to come back and tie it before the game expired. The game would then move into overtime, where the Braves continued there teamwork to distance themselves enough from the Lakers to hang on and win 41-37.

The Braves win streak extends to 14 in a row and with the win tonight, it gives them a shot to win the League Championship for the first time in 38 years. The Braves will back on the court when they take on Niles on Saturday.

BADGER CANT BE STOPPED

KINSMAN,OHIO. The Lady Braves looked to continue their hot streak tonight as they took on the Windham Bombers. The Braves once again achieved highly on the defensive side with several steals. Katie Grexa once again led the Braves in scoring with 23 points. Hannah Betts and Bree Huscroft also had productive nights as Betts added 12 points and Huscroft added 9 more, which included three clutch three pointers.

Briah Daniel had a good night of play as she dropped 19 points for the Bombers but it was not enough as they fell to the Braves 61-28. The Braves win streak now extends to 13 in a row as they will be back in action tomorrow night at home when they take on the 12-4 Pymatuning Valley Lakers.

BRAVES GET A CLOSE FINISH THAT GOES THEIR WAY

KINSMAN, OHIO. The Badger Braves took on the fast paced, Windham Bombers tonight in what was a very back and forth game.

The Braves started off slow in the first quarter but finished the quarter strong with a 23-17 lead. The Braves kept pace with the Bombers and had a 37-34 lead at the half. The intensity continued in the second half as the Bombers had an answer for everything the Braves put up. Duncan Moy was the man of the night for the Braves as he dropped 34 points. Freshman, Preston Geracitano and Tyler McWilliams also had a productive night for the Braves as Geracitano scored 10 points and McWilliams hit a couple clutch three pointers in his first Varsity start for the Braves.

Jack and Chase Eye were the leading men for the Bombers as they combined for 32 points and Zach Turk dropped 16 points including four three pointers. It all came down to the final seconds of the game as Chase Eye missed the game winning shot at the buzzer and the Braves held on to win 66-64.

The Braves are now 13-3 and will go on the road this Friday night to take on the St. John Fighting Heralds.

BADGER JUST KEEPS WINNING

KINSMAN, OHIO. It was another night of girls basketball as the Badger Braves took on the visiting Maplewood Rockets. The Rockets were an outnumbered team that continued to fight the whole game with just a total of five players listed on their roster.

The exhaustion soon caught up with the Rockets as Katie Grexa had another productive night with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Braves defensive side did a lot of productive work as well as Hannah Betts and Gabby Miller combined for 11 steals as the Braves came out with the win tonight 48-28.

The Braves win streak reaches 12 in a row now as they will take on the Windham Bombers at home on Wednesday.

BRAVES SHINE THE BRIGHTEST ON THE BIG STAGE

CLEVELAND,OHIO- The Badger Lady Braves took on the Heartland Christian Lady Lions in the Rocket Mortgage Field House. The Braves took off immediately as they were led by Katie Grexa, who dropped 20 points.

The Braves kept  the lions in control with their tough defensive play. Addison Thompson had impressive play coming off of the bench for the Brave as she added 8 points and the Braves went on to win 48-14.

The Braves win streak reaches to 11 in a row as they look to continue that streak when they take on the Maplewood Rockets on Monday.

GAULT GIVES LIONS DRAMATIC WIN IN CLEVELAND

CLEVELAND, OHIO- What a game it was that took place in the Rocket Mortgage Field House as the Badger Braves took on the Heartland Christian Lions.

In what was a back and forth game, the Lions kept up with the Braves as Drew Gault was the leading man for the Lions with 19 points. Gault also had help from Jake Walker who put up 15 points. Duncan Moy went off for the Braves with 23 points and Brad Hamliton added another 14 points but it was not enough as Duncan Moy missed the final shot of the game and the Braves fell to the Lions 51-50.

The Braves will try to regroup and figure things out when they take on the Windham Bombers at home on Wednesday. The Heartland Christian Lions will take on the Academy for Urban Scholars on Tuesday.

HAM ‘N CHEESIN’

KINSMAN, OH- There have been so many reasons for Badger senior standout, Brad Hamilton to smile this season.  The Braves have guaranteed themselves a winning season again in 2023, and have put themselves on the map seemingly with jam-packed crowds and some of the most intrigue across YSN.

Not to mention earlier this week, B-Ham crossed over to “Thousand Island” when he scored his 1000th point in a 38-point game.

However, while Hamilton has no issues keeping a grin stretched across his face, he and his teammates understand that there is still work to do to accomplish what they’re looking to do on their way out of Badger.

We caught up with the Brave point-guard to discuss the state of the team, as well as plans after high school.

KINSMAN, OH- The Badger Braves have grown into one of the area’s most exciting teams on the hardwood.  The defense-driven, high-flying, clutch-shooting hoops club has a ton of big names on the roster, and among them is a guy that has had his hand in the pile since his freshmen season.  A guy that will put his ego aside for the good of the team, and his talents shine when he gets his opportunity!

Senior, Alex Butler has been a “program guy” over the past four years, and is now helping the younger generation of Braves understand their role in practices and in the game.

We had a chance to sit down with the Brave Baller prior to the new year and discuss what he wants out of the finale of his basketball career, and where he sees himself in the future.

HAMILTON BARRELS HIS WAY TO 1000

KINSMAN,OHIO- What a night it was in little Kinsman, Ohio as the Badger Braves took on the Lordstown Devils. The man of the night was Brad Hamilton, who dropped 38 points and secured his spot in the Badger record books by reaching 1,000 career points.

Hamilton got hot fast and just went with the flow. Lewis flowers added 12 points and Duncan Moy finished with 6 points, which included to big dunks that got the Braves rolling.

The Braves went on to win 83-21 to improve to a 12-2 record and look to keep the momentum going when they take on the Heartland Christian Lions tomorrow.
