EAST LIVERPOOL OH-  Beaver Local basketball has seen it’s fair share of amazing talent come through the halls of the schools, Beaver senior standout Peyton Roberts has etched her name among the program’s elite scorers, leaving an indelible mark on the court. A prolific talent, Roberts has long harbored dreams of seeing her name join the prestigious list of 1,000-point scorers adorning the school’s walls, and she stands on the brink of realizing that childhood ambition.

From a young age, Roberts displayed an unwavering determination to leave a lasting legacy within the Beaver Local basketball program. The allure of having her name enshrined alongside the greats fueled her passion for the game, propelling her towards the doorstep of the coveted 1,000-point milestone.

BEAVERS BLAST THEIR WAY PAST LISBON

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- Beaver Local showcased their prowess on the court over the weekend, securing a commanding victory against Lisbon with a final score of 65-36.

Peyton Roberts led the offensive charge for Beaver Local, delivering an impressive 23-point performance. The team’s well-rounded effort featured notable contributions from Addison Eells with 13 points, Karsyn Bowyer with 7 points, and Bella McClevey adding 6 points.

On the opposing side, Lisbon’s Morgan Lively displayed resilience, tallying 19 points, with support from Brooklyn Cousins contributing 8 points.

The win propels Beaver Local to a 5-7 record, and they aim to sustain their momentum as they face Harrison Central on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lisbon, now standing at 3-8, seeks a rebound in their upcoming matchup against United on Monday.

BEAVERS USE A STRONG FINISH TO PULL AWAY

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- In a thrilling basketball matchup on Friday, Beaver Local demonstrated their prowess with a powerful fourth-quarter performance, ultimately securing a 79-68 victory over Cambridge.

Austin Cline led the charge for Beaver Local, delivering a standout performance with 23 points, earning him the game-high scoring title. Supported by a well-rounded effort from the team, which included notable contributions from Luke Rettos (13 points), Owen Hill (13 points), Hunter Warrick (11 points), and Keaton Heddleston (10 points), Beaver Local showcased their depth and scoring versatility.

The pivotal fourth quarter saw Beaver Local outscore Cambridge 22-12, underscoring their ability to finish strong and seize control of the game.

With this impressive win, Beaver Local advances to a 5-5 record and looks forward to their next challenge at home against Brooke on Monday.

BEAVERS KEEP MOVING FORWARD

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- In a hard-fought battle on Thursday, Beaver Local secured a 49-41 victory over St Clairsville, showcasing their resilience and determination on their home court.

Peyton Roberts emerged as the driving force for the Beavers, delivering an outstanding performance with 28 points in the game. Notably, Roberts is now just 32 points away from reaching the impressive milestone of 1,000 career points, a testament to her scoring prowess and contribution to the team.

With this crucial home win, Beaver Local improves to a 4-7 record and looks ahead to their upcoming matchup against Lisbon on Saturday.

ANGRY BEAVERS ARE HARD TO HANDLE

COLUMBIANA OH- Beaver Local ignited an explosive performance from the opening tip-off, overwhelming Crestview in a commanding 74-42 victory on Tuesday night.

Hunter Warrick led the offensive barrage for Beaver Local, delivering an outstanding 20-point performance. Austin Cline and Evan Stephanson also made significant contributions, adding 16 and 12 points, respectively. Owen Hill rounded out the balanced attack with 10 points.

Crestview faced a formidable challenge, and despite their efforts, they were led in scoring by Jonathan Best with 7 points, while Evan Neff contributed 6 points.

BEAVER LOCAL BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH NICK MILLER

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- It’s basketball season for Beaver Local once again! Coming off a 12-12 season last year, The Beavers feel like last season will be a perfect launching point into this season. With a fair amount of experience coming back across the board, Beavers Head Coach Nick Miller feels like this year’s edition of The Beavers are going to be a high-flying, action-packed group.

Talking with Coach Miller, YSNs Ty Bartell and him discuss this upcoming season. Focusing on the points of growth Beaver Local looks to have with their returners as well as the schedule put in front of them that they will have to navigate through with some tough competition end to end. They also discuss the makeup of this year’s team, the expectations and goals and, of course, the rivalry with East Liverpool. All that and more in this edition of Coaches Corner on YS

POTTERS PREVAIL IN FIRST GAME WITH BEAVER LOCAL

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- In a heated rivalry matchup, East Liverpool emerged victorious in round one against Beaver Local, securing a 57-41 win on Thursday.

Leading the scoring charge for East Liverpool were Kenzie Walker with 13 points, Aynsley Galeoti with 12 points, and Ken Headley with 11 points. Reagan Edwards and Dacianelle Andrews also contributed to the scoring effort with 7 and 6 points, respectively.

On the Beaver Local side, Peyton Roberts showcased her scoring prowess with an impressive 17 points, while Cami Starkey added 7 points.

East Liverpool’s collective effort and offensive efficiency proved pivotal in securing the win against their fierce rival. The victory sets a positive tone for East Liverpool as they navigate the competitive landscape of the basketball season.

BEAVER LOCAL STARTS OUT HOT

RICHMOND, OH- The Beaver Local Lady Beavers started their girls’ basketball campaign on a strong note, securing a decisive 62-22 victory over Edison. The Beavers strategically dictated the game defensively, generating numerous turnovers that translated into easy baskets. In the second half, Beaver Local widened the gap, outscoring the Wildcats 33-4. Senior Peyton Roberts led the charge with an impressive 32 points, supported by Karsyn Bowyer with 10 points, and contributions from Mallory Miller (6 points) and Cami Starkey (5 points).

The Beavers (1-0) will face East Liverpool on Thursday at The Beaver Dome, with JV action beginning at 5:30 pm.

BEAVER LOCAL GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH TONY SORGE

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- It’s time for another basketball season in Beaver Local. As the winter months get closer, the anticipation inside the gym grows. For the Beavers girls program they are hungry to get better each and every day.  The Beavers have a promising year ahead with a fantastic core of leadership. They’ll get the Beavers through any kind of adversity they may face.
