BEAVERS EARN SEASON SWEEP OF EDISON

RICHMOND OH- Beaver Local traveled to Richmond on Monday night looking for the season sweep of the Edison Wildcats.  Behind a solid starting pitching performance and timely hitting the Beavers were able to accomplish that goal with a 4-3 victory in 8 innings.

The Wildcats had other plans early as they struck for 2 runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Those two runs were all Edison could muster through 6 innings as Beaver Local starter Dalton Curran (4IP, 5K, 2ER) and Micah Sturm (2IP, 0ER) enabled the Beavers to stay within striking distance of the home standing Wildcats. Edison Starter Cam Cooley held the Beaver bats silent pitching  5 scoreless before trouble brewed in the top of the 6th Inning.  The Beavers rallied for 3 runs in the 6th & 7thinnings to take a 3-2 lead.  Edison would not go away forcing extra innings with the tying run in the 7th.

Dorian Jackson singled home the go ahead run in the top of the 8th and Wyatt Johnson finished off the home team in the bottom half of the inning to secure the season sweep of the Wildcats.

Micah Jones led the Beavers with 3 hits including a double and RBI.   Dalton Curran backed up his strong start on the mound with 2 hits and an RBI.

Michael McKenzie contributed two hits and an RBI in victory for the Beavers.  Beaver Local (3-1) looks to remain hot as it travels to Harrison Central on Wednesday.  Edison (2-3) welcomes Indian Creek to Richmond on Wednesday.
