ASTRO FALCONS BLAST THROUGH BUCKEYES

STRUTHERS OH- In a NABF 18U showdown at Bob Cene Park on Thursday night, the Astro Falcons crushed the BHM Buckeyes 14-1.

Ben Kern led the way with two hits, including a double, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Andres Hurkmans was hot with three hits, including a double, three RBIs, and a run. Danny Pederson added two hits, an RBI, and a run. Tyler Wright chipped in with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs. Liam McElroy and Blake Primrose each smacked a triple, with McElroy scoring three runs and Primrose driving in two and scoring twice.

On the mound, David Posey was untouchable, pitching a complete game with no hits, no earned runs, and seven strikeouts.

CREEKSIDE KEEPS THINGS ROLLING

STRUTHERS OH- On a sunny Saturday at Bob Cene Park, Creekside Fitness flexed their muscles with a commanding 5-1 victory over the BHM Buckeyes.

Ross Harris sparked the offense with three hits and a run, while Parker Montgomery delivered three hits, including a double, driving in two runs and scoring once himself. Dominik Cataldi was a force on the mound, tossing a complete game, scattering five hits with no earned runs, and striking out seven. Despite the loss, Vincenzo Marsico shone for BHM with two hits, including a double.

ONTARIO ASTROS BLAST BUCKEYES

STRUTHERS OH- In one of the most dramatic offensive performances we’ve seen yet at the NABF World Series, the Ontario Astros 18U poll vaulted past the BHM Buckeyes 20-4.

The RBI’s were widely spread out among the Astros lineup. Brandon Langley led them with 4 RBI on a 2-4 day with 2 runs scored, and a walk.  Joseph Handley went 2-3 with 3 RBI, 3 runs scored, and a pair of walks.  Matthew Dubrick was never retired going 1-1 with 3 walks, and 3 runs scored. He also collected 3 RBI.  Will Jackson anchored the top of the order going 2-4 with a walk, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.  Ben Forster bat right behind him, and also grabbed 2 RBI on a 1-3 day. He also scored 3 runs and walked.

Aidan Gelhard got the win on the rubber. He went 3 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and struck out a pair.

AVALANCHE POUND THE BUCKEYES

STRUTHERS OH- After their 16U squad won earlier in the day on a dramatic walk off, Avalanche’s 18U team made it much less interesting. They stormed their way to a 11-0 victory over the BHM Buckeyes.

Jake Kail was a force for the Avalanche bats. He went 1-3 on the day with a run scored, and 2 RBI.  Julian Trott was never retired at the plate as he went 3-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Logan Ayres was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a RBI.  Noah Reichard knocked in 2 RBI on a 1-3 day.  Kenny Lavrich had multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored, and a RBI.

Jaret Boyer collected the win on the mound for the Avalanche. He threw 3 innings and gave up no runs on 1 hit and struck out 6. The Avalanche pitching staff struck out 9 while walking none.

ASTRO CONTINUES TO ROLL THROUGH NABF

STRUTHERS OH- BHM Buckeyes struggled to get their offense going on Sunday, getting easily dispatched by Astro Falcons, 13-1.

Astro Falcons scored six runs in the fifth inning. Ben Slanker, Ty Casiato, Teddy Ruffner, and Tim Quinn all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Conor Carney led things off on the mound for Astro Falcons. Carney allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Michael Casselberry started the game for BHM Buckeyes. The hurler allowed seven hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out two. Otto Abel and Nick Bollinger entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Abel and Clayton Graham each collected one hit to lead BHM Buckeyes.

Ben Slanker led Astro Falcons with two hits in three at bats. Astro Falcons was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ruffner made the most plays with eight.
