JOEY FELL WINS BIG DOG OF THE VALLEY IN WEEK 5

Champion, OH- Champion quarterback Joey Fell is this weeks Baird Brothers Big Dog of the Valley. Fell has been a senior leader for the Golden Flashes, throwing for over 620 yards in the first 5 games of the season. Fell is not only an accurate passer, but can also beat you on the ground. He has run for 524 yards and 7 touchdowns during his senior season.

The Golden Flashes have won 3 games in a row, and will have a huge test on Friday night. Champion will host the G-Men of Garfield (4-1), in a huge battle on Friday. Congratulations to Joey Fell on winning this week’s Big Dogs of the Valley brought to you by:

MUCK WINS BIG DOG IN A LANDSLIDE

LIBERTY, OH- With over 115,000 votes in this weeks Big Dogs of the Valley competition, Liberty volleyball player Lexi Muck was the winner in a landslide. Muck leads the Leopards on the court with 132 kills and 46 total blocks. Muck is only a junior, but is one of the best middle blockers around the area. MUCKLEROY AND MORRIS TAKE BIG DOGS OF THE VALLEY IN WEEK THREE

EAST PALESTINE, OH- With over 205,000 votes in week three for the Baird Brothers Big Dogs of the Valley competition, Canfield volleyball middle blocker Abby Muckleroy and Southern Local football player Wyatt Morris have won the polls in week three.

Muckleroy has been one of the most dominant middle blockers in the Mahoning Valley, recording 22 blocks in nine matches played. She has also becoming a strength to the Canfield offense, leading the team with 81 kills in 32 sets played. Muckleroy has taken a senior leadership role to this years Canfield volleyball team and has guided Canfield to some big wins over Boardman and McDonald. Canfield has a huge match coming up, hosting Austintown Fitch tomorrow night at 7 P.M.

On the boys side, Southern local standout Wyatt Morris has guided the Indians to a perfect start of 4-0. In week two against East Canton, Morris exploded for 135 yards on the ground and three touchdowns. Morris followed that up with a big performance in week four over the Lisbon Blue Devils. Morris and Colton Soukup have become a two headed monster in the backfield for the Indians and are looking to stay unbeaten this week against Columbiana. Morris won Big Dog of the Valley in week three against a tough field of over 150,000 combined votes.

BRUNNER RUNS AWAY WITH BIG DOG TITLE

BELOIT, OH- When West Branch is nominated, Beloit shows up.

West Branch Volleyball’s Claire Brunner joins Mitch Coffee as YSN/Baird Brothers Big Dogs of the Valley in Week 2 of the contest.

Brunner tallied over 37,000 votes to send the t-shirt to Warrior Country.  Claire has helped push her team to a 4-1 record, and multiple YSN Player of the Game selections already this season.

With the victory, Brunner gets an automatic bid to the Big Dog of the Year Vote at season’s end.

COFFEE TAKES BIG DOG TITLE IN WEEK 2

BELOIT, OH- For the first time in Big Dogs of the Valley History, a big man has taken home the title in football!  West Branch’s Mitch Coffee takes home the Baird Brothers Big Dog of the Valley crown with over 17,000 votes following his 5 sack performance against Woodridge.

The “Big Bean” has helped the Warriors to a 2-1 record thus far, and has made his mark on the season already, being praised in the area as one of the best defenders,  and pass rushers.

With the win, Coffee will represent West Branch at the season’s end with an automatic bid for Big Dog of the Year.

LYTLE LANDS TOP DOG HONORS IN WEEK 1

CORTLAND, OH- Lakeview’s Tara Lytle was voted in as the Baird Brothers/YSN Big Dog of the Valley for Volleyball in Week 1.

Lytle snuck out the vote by just under one hundred tallies from the voters.

The Lakeview star has had a historic start to her season with 65 kills in just four contests.  Lytle also is hitting .592 to start the campaign.

Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs, and to their senior leader, Tara Lytle on being named the Week 1 Baird Brothers/YSN Big Dog of the Valley!

BIG VOTES LAND BALLONE AS BIG DOG IN WEEK 1

LOWELLVILLE, OH- Senior Quarterback, Vinny Ballone has been chosen by the voters as the Week 1 Baird Brothers/YSN Big Dog of the Valley for football.

Ballone tallied over 20,000 votes this week on his way to the honor, but the real story was what he did on the field in the first two weeks of the season.

Vinny threw for 6 touchdowns and nearly 300 yards in the first game of the year, but also rushed for 146 yards and a score as well.

Only to be followed up with the exact same numbers against Campbell Memorial in Week 2- 6 passing scores, and a rushing tuddy as well.

BAIRD BROTHERS BASKETBALL BIG DOGS OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED

EAST PALESTINE, OH- The votes have been cast, and nearly 200,000 tallies have been sorted.  The Your Sports Network Executive Team has weighed in, and today things become official with the crowning of the Baird Brothers Basketball Big Dogs of the Year.

For the girls, it’s a second straight title for Beaver Local’s Jenna Riccardo.  The 2018-2019 winner took a big junior year and shattered the glass ceiling becoming the only player in recent memory to collect over 1000 points AND 1000 rebounds in a career!  Riccardo will take her outstanding career to West Liberty to play for the Lady Hilltopper’s this fall.

 

For the guys, Boardman’s Derrick Anderson led the Spartans to an unbelievable season, while joining the 1000 point club in front of the home fans.  Anderson also made headlines averaging 22.7 points per game while raking in 4 assists and 5 rebounds per contest.  The all-around all-star is still looking at his options to continue his career and education at the next level.

Congratulations to this year’s winners on yet another accolade, and championing local sports on and off the court.  You’ve represented yourselves, your family, your school, community, and teams exceptionally well throughout your careers.

WEEK 2 BIG DOGS OF THE VALLEY WINNERS ANNOUNCED

EAST PALESTINE, OH- We open the season with a sweep from Crestview.  This week two VERY deserving candidates were crowned and will now be in the running for the Baird Brothers Big Dog of the Year in their respective sports.
