JONES HITS 1,000 CAREER POINTS IN BIG PERFORMANCE OVER GARFIELD

BROOKFIELD, OH- Warriors senior Isaiah Jones had a memorable night in the 75-70 win over Garfield, as he eclipsed 1,000 career points with a 32 point performance. Jones used his powerful frame to score 28 points within the three point line, while adding four more points from the charity stripe.

The Brookfield Warriors had a steady lead throughout the ballgame last night, as they led after every single quarter. The G-Men had a productive fourth quarter with 23 points scored, but it was not enough as Brookfield countered with 22 points scored in the fourth quarter to win by five.

Outside of Jones’ big night for Brookfield, Matteo Fortuna had a huge night scoring 29 points. Fortuna got to the free throw line plenty, dropping in 8/11 charity tosses. For the Garfield G-Men, Preston Gedeon had a game high 37 points, knocking down eight three-pointers to keep Garfield alive throughout the ballgame. Carter Bates was also in double figures scoring 13 points for Garfield.

The Warriors are now 9-5 on the season and will host Campbell on Friday at 7 P.M. As for Garfield, they drop to 4-11 and will travel to LaBrae on Friday night.

TIGERS SWEEP WARRIORS AT HOME

New Middletown, OH- The Springfield Tigers picked up a huge sweep in MVAC play over the Brookfield Warriors. It was a balanced offensive attack for the Tigers as three hitters picked up six or more kills. Baelyn Brungard led the team with 7 kills and 6 serving aces, while Jameka Brungard and Mariah Jones followed close behind with 6 kills.

Defensively, Sami McKim had 21 digs to lead the way, while Jacey Mullen had 11. The Tigers had a total of 40 digs in the 3 set match.

Set 2: 25-14 Springfield

Set 3: 25-13 Springfield

The Tigers improve to 5-6 and 4-4 in MVAC play. The Warriors drop to 6-6, and will travel to Liberty tomorrow night. The Tigers will take on McDonald at home tomorrow at 7 P.M.

CHAMPION TAKES 5 SET THRILLER OVER BROOKFIELD

CHAMPION, OH- The Champion Golden Flashes and the Brookfield Warriors met in conference play on Tuesday night. The match was highly contested, with the Golden Flashes taking it in five sets with a 16-14 victory in the fifth.

Although the Warriors lost the match, they had some great contributions from the pin hitters. Cailey Wellman led the charge with 18 kills, while Lauren Shingledecker had 8 kills. Shingledecker was so close to a double-double as she also recorded 20 digs.

Set 5: 16-14 Champion

The Warriors will return to the floor tomorrow night against Newton Falls, while Champion is back to .500 and will host LaBrae tomorrow night at 7 P.M.
