The second quarter added to their momentum, with Rapczazk taking charge once again with a 12-yard touchdown run, extending their lead to 13-0. Rapczak’s defensive contribution couldn’t be overlooked as he intercepted a pass, granting the Tigers possession. However, Champion responded with a fumble recovery by Zach Morris, giving them a chance to counter.

In the third quarter, Rapczak showcased his versatility by executing a spectacular 43-yard touchdown run, pushing Newton Falls further ahead with a score of 19-0.  COLUMBIANA, OH – The stage was set for an exciting matchup between the Crestview Rebels and the Champion Golden Flashes. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the two teams clashed under the Friday night lights, eager to prove their worth on the gridiron.

Early in the first quarter, Colin Cope, the Rebels’ reliable kicker, lined up for a 28-yard field goal attempt. With precision and poise, he sent the football soaring through the uprights, putting Crestview on the scoreboard at 3-0 with 4:47 remaining in the quarter. The Golden Flashes weren’t to be outdone, and they answered back with a field goal of their own, making it 3-3. The game was shaping up to be a tightly contested battle.

As the clock ticked down towards the end of the first quarter, the Rebels’ offense came alive. Max Hawkins, took a handoff and bulldozed his way into the end zone with a powerful 4-yard touchdown run. With just 25 seconds left, Crestview now led 8-3.

The second quarter brought even more excitement. Christian Williams powered through the Rebels’ defense with a 1-yard touchdown run, giving Champion the lead, 10-8 with 9:24 left in the half. Max Hawkins, who showcased his incredible speed and agility. He broke free on a 49-yard touchdown run, putting Crestview ahead 23-10 with 1:05 left in the third quarter. The fourth quarter continued to be dominated by the Rebels. Max Hawkins added to his impressive night with a 4-yard touchdown run, making the score 30-10 with 11:41 remaining. The Golden Flashes were desperate to mount a comeback, but their hopes were dashed when Shane Bacon, a tenacious defensive player, pounced on a fumbled ball in the end zone for a touchdown. The match was highlighted by exceptional performances from Crestview’s key players. Grace Auer played a pivotal role with 15 kills and 16 assists, achieving a remarkable double-double. Auer’s versatility and ability to contribute both offensively and as a playmaker were on full display.

Abbey Emch was another standout for Crestview, tallying 12 kills, 2 blocks, and an impressive 5 aces. Her dynamic presence at the net and from the service line created significant challenges for the opposing team.

CAMPBELL, OH – It was a crisp, autumn evening, and the excitement in the air was palpable as the Champion Golden Flashes prepared to take on the Campbell Memorial Red Devils. The stadium was packed with eager fans, their cheers echoing through the chilly night. The first quarter had been a defensive battle, with neither team managing to penetrate the other’s end zone. But as the second quarter began, the game’s momentum was about to change in a dramatic fashion.

With just over three minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Golden Flashes’ defense stepped up in a big way. The Red Devils, trying to mount a drive and break the deadlock, were moving the ball steadily downfield. But the Champion defense had other plans. As Campbell Memorial took a run off the edge, defensive lineman Michael Sanders exploded off the line of scrimmage with a burst of speed that left the offensive line stunned. With a perfectly timed swipe of his massive hand, Sanders knocked the ball out. The stadium gasped in unison as the football tumbled towards the ground. Carla Ramirez Ortiz was the standout star of the night, delivering a record-breaking performance that will be remembered for years to come. She not only set the school record for most assists in a game but also surpassed the career record with a staggering 1982 assists to her name. Her ability to orchestrate the team’s offense was pivotal in securing the victory.

Kendall Brunn shone brightly on the offensive front, recording an incredible 22 kills with a remarkable hitting percentage of .396. Her ability to find the right angles and deliver powerful attacks was a constant source of trouble for the Champion defense.

In the second quarter, the Brookfield offense continued to shine, led by Rico Smith, who broke free for an electrifying 80-yard touchdown run, extending their lead to 14-0. Smith wasn’t done yet, adding another impressive 33-yard touchdown run, though the extra point was no good, making it 20-0. Brett Carsone joined the scoring frenzy with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Rankin, bringing the score to 26-0 at halftime.
