YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- Monday afternoon was a very special one for Chaney standout Jason Hewlett as
he announced his commitment via social media to play college football at the University of Michigan.
The Wolverines plan on using Hewlett in many ways on the defensive side of the ball. He appeared in 11
games this Fall for Chaney, amassing 317 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the 10-2 Cowboys.
Hewlett chose the Wolverines over Kentucky, NC State, Boston College, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and
more. According to 247 Sports, Hewlett is a four-star athlete and is ranked the 10th-best prospect in
Ohio in the Class of 2023.
