WHITING MAKES A OPENING GAME STATEMENT

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Game one of the 18U playoff belonged to the Whiting Roll-Offs as they took down Knightline 12-2 at Bob Cene Park on Sunday.

Nick Parrotto led the Roll-Offs at the plate as he went  for a perfect day going 2 for 2 and scored two runs. He also notched a pair of RBI.  Cason Holland made the most of his 1-3 day as he collected 3 RBI.  Corbin Sevcik drove in a pair of runs going 1-2.

Andrew Brown took the loss for Knightline on the mound as he allowed five runs on three hits with one strikeout. Jack Ray was the winning pitcher on the hill as he allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

ASTRO FALCONS HAVE NO TROUBLE IN SERIES OPENER

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In Game one of the 18U playoffs at Bob Cene Park, the Astro Falcons cruised past the Avalanche 10-0.

Joey Perry led the Falcons at the plate as he went 2 for 3 and score two runs. Justin weaver sent 1-3 on the day and tallied 3 RBI.  Jacob McGuire got himself a pair of RBI on a 1-2 day with a run scored.

Jake Bean picked up the win on the mound as he allowed zero runs, five hits, and sat down thirteen batters in a magnificent performance. 

AVALANCHE PLAY THEIR WAY TO A SERIES AGAINST THE ASTRO FALCONS

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Avalanche just snuck by Creekside Fitness 9-8 in the 18U playoff play-in this evening at Bob Cene Park.

The Avalanche were led at the plate by Hayden Scarmack, Jack Strausser, Michael Earman, Nolan Reichard, Jacob Mattocks, and Soren Hedderick, who all had 2 or more hits.

Creekside was led at the plate by Jake Patterson, who went 3 for 4, Braeden D’Angelo, and Hank Shaffer, who both went 2 for 4. Jacob Mattocks was also the winning pitcher of the evening as he allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts. 

WHITING RALLIES FOR SERIES OPENING WIN

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In round one of the 16U playoffs on Friday night, The Whiting Roll-Offs came out on top against Creekside Fitness 6-1 at Bob Cene Park.

Whiting was led at the plate by Davin Friedman, who went 4 for 4, Ben Yeckel, who went 3 for 3, and Chase Mitcheltree, who went 2 for 4. Dane Barber had a good performance at the plate in the losing effort for Creekside as he went 2 for 3. Zach Mclean was the losing pitcher of the evening.

Through four innings pitched, Mclean allowed four runs on nine hits. He sat down eight batters. Ryan Rebholz picked up the win on the hill as he pitched a complete game allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

AVALANCHE EARNS THE WIN IN A TIGHT GAME 1

STRUTHERS OH- The 16U playoffs at Bob Cene Park started off with a thriller on Friday night. After weather dampened the originally scheduled start, Friday made the wait worth it. Avalanche got the best of the Astro Falcons in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Kayden Mayhew had a clutch at bat for the Avalanche as he went 1-2 with a RBI.  Grayson Eicher was perfect at the plate all day as he went 2-2 with a RBI and a walk.  Joey Cidila also had multiple hits for Avalanche going 2-3.

Maddox Bell picked up the win on the bump for Avalanche. He went toe to toe in a high stress game. He lasted 3 innings and gave up 2 hits and 0 runs. He struck out 6 hitters.

Chandler Maurice picked up the only RBI of the day for the Falcons. He collected a 1-3 day.  Rowan Urbach also went 1-3 on the day for their offense.

Carson Klase pitched well despite the loss for the Astro Falcons. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 9 hits.  He sat down 6 hitters.

A THRILLING CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES ENDS WITH AN ASTRO FALCON WIN

STRUTHERS OH- Astro tops Avalanche, 5-2, in Game 5 of the 14U championship and takes home the trophy.

Avalanche got out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning off of back-to-back RBIs from Jack White and Jared Bissell.

Jayden Amos cut the deficit to 2-1 for Astro in the bottom of the first before the game was postponed Thursday due to the weather.

The game continued Friday evening, and Astro tied the game in the third inning off an RBI single from Ben Oddis.

Astro dominated in the fifth inning thanks to a trio of RBIs from Kaden Reese, Jake Dovich, and Ben Oddis to take a 5-2 lead before cruising to the finish line in the final two innings.

Joey Gabriel, who originally played shortstop on Thursday, was called on to pitch for Astro on Friday when the game resumed and picked up the win on the mound, allowing 0 runs through the final six innings.

Noah Wilkerson, Brekken Hedderick, and Jack White left it all on the field for Avalanche, all recording two hits a piece.

KNIGHTLINE LANDS FINAL PUNCH

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In what was a close and intense battle, Knightline snuck away with a 12-10 win over the Prospects this evening at Bob Cene Park.

Knighltine was led at the plate by Chance Laczko, Nate Freeland, Andrew McRoberts, and Andrew Brown, who all had two hits. In the valiant, but losing effort, the Prospects were led by Gino Lazzeri, who went 3 for 3, Olindo Pezzone and Antony Roper, who both went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Pezzone was also the losing pitcher of the evening as he allowed three runs on four hits. Braylen Schuller picked up the win on the mound as he allowed two runs and had two strikeouts.

PROSPECTS PUT THE HAMMER DOWN

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Prospects had a good outing today on Independence Day as they took down the Avalanche 11-1 at Bob Cene Park.

Gino Lazzeri, Ethan Petak, and Carter Knupp all picked up two hits and scored a run each to lead the Prospects at the plate.

Brett McSparran picked up the win on the mound as he allowed one run on five hits and sat down five batters at the plate.

SPARKS FLY FOR WHITING

STRUTHERS, OHIO- On a beautiful 4th of July day at Bob Cene Park, the Whiting Roll-Offs picked up the 5-0 win over Knightline.

Mike Delduca led things at the plate for Whiting as he went 3 for 3 and scored one run. Nate Freeland led Knightline at the plate in the losing effort going 1 for 2.

Jack Ray picked up the win on the hill as he allowed four hits and no runs with an amazing twelve strikeout performance. 

BALLISTIC OFFENSE BLASTS OFF

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Ballistic Baseball had a good outing today on the 4th of July as they picked up a 8-0 win over Dura Edge at Bob Cene Park.

Donavan Sullivan, Josh Wolf, Tyler Wright, Evan Tomasic, and Gabe Rusnak all had two hits at the plate to lead the way for Ballistic. Brady Harman went 1-2 on the night with 2 RBI.  Weight also knocked in a pair of runs.  Tomasic collected a RBI for his efforts. 

Dylan McElhinney picked up the win on the mound as he allowed just two hits and no runs with five strikeouts.
