COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana’s volleyball team showcased their resilience and determination in a hard-fought tournament clash against Mooney, emerging victorious with a sweeping victory in three intense sets, with scores of 25-21, 28-26, and 25-19. The win marked a significant step in their postseason journey.

Several standout players led the charge for Columbiana, exemplifying their commitment to success. Ellie Jackson displayed her all-around abilities, achieving a remarkable triple-double with 13 kills, 14 assists, and 19 crucial digs. Cameron Perkins orchestrated the team’s offense with precision, providing 18 assists and adding 9 digs to her impressive performance. Danica Halas contributed with 7 kills, 2 digs, and 1 block, bolstering the team’s offensive and defensive efforts.

Ava Heinrich made her presence felt with an incredible 22 digs and 6 aces, playing a pivotal role in Columbiana’s strong defensive display. Maryn Hepler added to the offensive firepower with 7 digs and 5 kills, further showcasing the team’s depth and versatility.

With this hard-fought win, Columbiana advances to the sectional finals, where they will face Grand Valley in the next chapter of their postseason journey. The matchup is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30,

CLIPPERS CLAP WELLSVILLE

COLUMBIANA OH- In an electrifying display of strength and skill, Columbiana put on a show for their home fans, delivering a resounding 53-7 victory over Wellsville. The Columbiana Clippers left no room for doubt, dominating the game from start to finish.

Columbiana wasted no time setting the tone as Parker Bush orchestrated a 2-yard touchdown run. Aidan Radcliff’s successful PAT put the Clippers on the board at 7-0 with 8:09 remaining in the first quarter.

Kian Hartley then showcased his prowess with a 1-yard touchdown run, extending Columbiana’s lead to 14-0. Radcliff’s accurate PAT added to the Clippers’ momentum at 4:36.

Hartley wasn’t finished yet, following up with a 2-yard touchdown run. Although the conversion attempt failed, Columbiana commanded a 20-0 lead with 3:12 remaining in the opening quarter.

Columbiana’s offensive prowess continued into the second quarter, with Parker Bush making a 1-yard touchdown run. Radcliff’s PAT was on the money, pushing the score to 27-0 at 7:13.

Liam Surgenavic then dazzled the home crowd with a spectacular 48-yard touchdown run. Radcliff’s precise PAT brought the score to 34-0 at 4:44.

As the Clippers continued to excel on both sides of the ball, Surgenavic added to his standout performance with a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown. Radcliff’s PAT extended Columbiana’s lead to a commanding 41-0 with just 1:22 left in the first half.

Columbiana’s offensive prowess showed no signs of letting up as Cameron Clancy powered through with a 2-yard touchdown run. Although the PAT was blocked, the Clippers maintained a substantial 47-0 lead at 3:10.

In the final quarter, Wellsville managed to put points on the board with Richie Dowling’s 16-yard touchdown run. Tyrell Watkins’ successful PAT made the score 47-7 at 4:38.

Columbiana wasn’t done yet. Hayes McCoy sprinted 55 yards for a touchdown, capping off the game with an emphatic exclamation point. With the running clock winding down, no PAT attempt was made, and the game concluded with a decisive 53-7 victory for the Columbiana Clippers.

 

MCDONALD BRINGS THE CLIPPERS DOWN TO EARTH

COLUMBIANA OH- In a high-stakes battle to close out the regular season, the McDonald volleyball team delivered an unforgettable performance by sweeping a formidable Columbiana squad in an exhilarating matchup. With scores of 25-22, 30-28, and 25-18, the Blue Devils showcased their skill and determination on the court, earning a massive victory and handing Columbiana their second loss of the year.

The Blue Devils were led by a trio of exceptional athletes who left an indelible mark on this pivotal match. Gianna Costantino was an offensive powerhouse, delivering 17 kills while also displaying her defensive prowess with 20 crucial digs, earning herself a remarkable double-double. Julianna Krumpak contributed five kills and 14 digs, consistently providing support for her team. Megan Klockner showcased incredible versatility, orchestrating the offense with 30 assists while also notching an impressive double-double with 14 digs and four kills. Miley Titus displayed her defensive prowess, amassing 16 digs throughout the game.

Columbiana fought valiantly throughout the match, with key players making significant contributions to their team’s efforts. Columbiana made an impressive move by stepping up a division to face off against the Struthers Wildcats at the Struthers Fieldhouse. The decision paid off in a big way as they secured a significant non-conference victory.

The stats for Columbiana tell the story of their triumphant performance. Ellie Jackson led the charge with a spectacular double-double, showcasing her all-around abilities on the court. She contributed 18 assists, 15 digs, and hammered home 8 kills, demonstrating her proficiency in setting up plays and finishing them as well.

Cameron Perkins was another standout player for Columbiana, nearly achieving a double-double of her own. She recorded 11 assists, 12 digs, and was just one kill short with an impressive 9 kills. Her contributions in both setting and attacking were vital to her team’s success.

CLIPPERS WONT LET PALESTINE GAIN MOMENTUM

EAST PALESTINE OH- Columbiana asserted their dominance on the road, preventing East Palestine from building a winning streak with a convincing 43-21 victory.

Columbiana’s Liam Surgenavic showcased his skills with six rushes for an impressive 171 yards and a touchdown. Parker Bush contributed to the team’s ground game success with seven carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Kian Hartley also made his presence felt, finding the end zone three times despite gaining 26 yards.

Columbiana’s ground attack outshone East Palestine, amassing 300 yards compared to their opponent’s 183.

East Palestine had some standout performers as well, with Owen Jurjavcic leading the rushing efforts with 133 yards on 20 carries, and Jesse Lipp adding 79 yards from 16 carries. Jurjavcic displayed his versatility by completing 13 of 25 passes for 140 yards.

R.J. May emerged as a key target, securing catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Shane Richardson contributed with four catches for 31 yards, while Noah McKay chipped in with three catches for 18 yards.

WELLSVILLE DASHES THE CLIPPERS HOPES OF AN UNDEFEATED SEASON

WELLSVILLE OH- In a dramatic volleyball showdown that sent shockwaves through the league, Wellsville emerged as the giant slayers, putting an end to Columbiana’s previously unbeaten season. The home crowd witnessed a thrilling five-set battle that tested the limits of both teams. The scores told the story: 25-17, 16-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-6 in favor of Wellsville.

Wellsville’s Presley Stokes led the charge with an outstanding 20 kills, demonstrating her prowess at the net. She also contributed three aces and two blocks, showcasing her well-rounded skills. Bella Poppelriter provided valuable support with 12 kills, adding depth to Wellsville’s offensive arsenal. The team’s setter, Mackenzie Nixon, orchestrated the offense effectively with 35 assists and chipped in with six aces and two kills, underlining her importance to the team’s success.

LISBON OH- Columbiana celebrated in style as they clinched the outright Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference (EOAC) championship with a four-set win over Lisbon. The final scores were 25-16, 19-25, 25-15, and 25-18, capping off an outstanding season and achieving their championship aspirations.

Columbiana showcased their prowess on the court with a well-rounded performance. Ellie Jackson was the epitome of versatility, recording a spectacular triple-double with 10 kills, 16 assists, and 11 digs. Her contributions were instrumental in the team’s success. Danica Halas demonstrated her offensive prowess with 12 kills, consistently delivering crucial points for Columbiana. Maryn Hepler was a vital presence at the net, contributing 11 kills and 18 digs, securing a double-double. Her exceptional defensive work and offensive contributions were pivotal. Kelsey Cameron added 7 kills and made her presence felt with 7 aces, displaying her skills both in offense and serving. Cameron Perkins with 24 assists, played a significant role in orchestrating the team’s offense. She also contributed 8 digs and 4 kills, showcasing her all-around abilities. Lisbon, despite the loss, had several standout performances.  Maddie Marshalek led the team with 10 kills, contributing valuable points throughout the match. Stefanee Stacey displayed her versatility with 21 assists and 10 digs, ensuring the team’s offense ran smoothly. Izzy Lannon showcased her defensive prowess with 21 digs and added 5 kills to her impressive stat line. Eliza Baker and **Kyrstin Reckner  both made significant contributions on the defensive end, recording 18 and 17 digs, respectively.

Columbiana’s victory not only secured the EOAC championship but also highlighted their exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the season. Congratulations to Columbiana on their well-deserved championship title.

CLIPPERS GET ALL THEY CAN HANDLE FROM NEIGHBORING RIVALS

Columbiana’s victory was a testament to their teamwork, resilience, and determination to secure the win. SOUTHERN MAPS OUT DOMINATION ON THE ROAD

COLUMBIANA OH- In a showdown of conference rivals, Southern unleashed a powerful display of football prowess, imposing their will on the field and securing an impressive 51-21 victory over Columbiana. The game featured thrilling moments and standout performances that left a lasting impression on fans.

The 1st quarter began with Columbiana drawing first blood as Kian Hartley powered through with a 3-yard touchdown run, complemented by Aidan Radcliff’s successful PAT, putting them ahead 7-0. However, Southern quickly responded with a lightning-fast Landen Heffner, who returned the kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. The PAT by Yargo was good, leveling the score at 7-7. Columbiana wasn’t to be outdone, as Dylan Bregard caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Liam Surgenavic, followed by Radcliff’s successful PAT, giving them a 14-7 lead.

The 2nd quarter continued to showcase the teams’ offensive prowess. Southern’s Landen Heffner made his presence felt with a 12-yard touchdown run, accompanied by a successful PAT by Yargo, tying the game at 14-14. Columbiana answered with a spectacular 82-yard touchdown run by Liam Surgenavic, with Radcliff adding the PAT, putting them back in the lead at 21-14. However, Southern’s Ryan Exline responded swiftly with a 17-yard touchdown run and a successful 2-point conversion, making it Southern 22, Columbiana 21.

The 3rd quarter saw Southern continuing their offensive onslaught. Landen Heffner punched in another touchdown with a 12-yard run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion, extending Southern’s lead to 30-21. The Southern defense also made its mark with Timmy Potts returning a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown, complemented by Yargo’s PAT, making it 37-21. Potts wasn’t finished, adding a 1-yard touchdown run, although the conversion attempt failed, setting the score at 43-21. Southern’s Landen Heffner capped off his outstanding performance with a 7-yard touchdown run, and Ryan Exline added a 2-point conversion, sealing the dominant victory at Southern 51, Columbiana 21.
