A self-professed football junkie, Bente enjoys the off-season preparation just as much as the intensity of game days. “To be at a place where things matter…there’s fading qualities in American society that I think matter still here,” Bente stated, emphasizing values such as grit, chivalry, and service.

Reflecting on the previous season’s challenges, Bente acknowledged the team’s inconsistencies and his own role in improving them. “We have played five quarters of good football out of twelve quarters,” he candidly admitted. Bente, who is anything but complacent, insists on self-scouting and returning to the basics to trim any excess from their playbook. “We should just be tweaking it, trimming the fat on both sides of the ball,” he explained.
