IRISH OFFENSE EXPLODES AGAINST CRESTWOOD
STRUTHERS, OH- It was a day that was 2 weeks in the making. The Ursuline Irish Baseball Team exploded for nine runs at Cene Park on Monday in a 9-1 victory over the Crestwood Red Devils. Ursuline’s first of the season.
Leading the way was the offense, but shining on the hill was Jonah Kirchner who went the distance for the green and gold with a complete game, six strikeout performance while scattering three hits along the way.
Offensively, Junior Colin Balas led the way going 3 for 3, while scoring each time as well. Jeremy Kreuzweiser also contributed big for the Irish, going 2-4 with a double, three runs and three runs batted in. Freshman Brady Shannon also impressed with two doubles that were crushed into the gap to put the Devils away for good.
The Irish are back at it today as they play their cross-town rival, Cardinal Mooney in Part 1 of the 2019 Youngstown Holy War. Action begins at 7pm at Cene Park or streaming LIVE on Your Sports Network.
