TIGERS GO BACK TO BACK

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- One of the most difficult things to do after winning a title is defending it. On Saturday night, Springfield girls basketball won their second consecutive district championship after kicking off Cornerstone Christian in blow out fashion 43-21.

Jameka Brungard had a big impact in this game, scoring 14 points with running mate Jacey Mullin producing nine points. After taking a 20-10 lead into the locker room at the half, Springfield used a 10 point third quarter to create some more breathing room. That was all they needed as they had a 30-14 lead to start the fourth quarter where they scored 13 points as a team.

Springfield will now hope for a repeat performance against Dalton in the regional semifinal Thursday night at Perry High School. The action begins with a 6 p.m. tipoff.
