GIRARD BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH CRAIG HANNON
GIRARD OH- After a tough 2-21 season in 2023, the Girard Indians are looking for a fresh start and new momentum this year. With a focus on growth and resilience, head coach Craig Hannon is confident the team can learn from last year’s struggles and take steps forward as a program.
The Indians will lean on the leadership of seniors Dom Phillips and Nick Rafferty, two key returners who bring experience and determination to the court. Phillips, a versatile player with a knack for stepping up in big moments, will be a focal point for Girard’s offense. Rafferty, known for his work ethic and ability to impact the game on both ends, will play a critical role in helping the younger players adjust to the pace of the season.
Coach Hannon is focused on turning last season’s challenges into opportunities for growth, using the tough experiences as a foundation for building a more competitive team. With a group that’s eager to improve, the Indians are ready to hit the ground running.
Girard opens the season at home on December 3rd against Campbell, where they’ll get their first chance to show how far they’ve come. The Indians may still be a work in progress, but there’s no shortage of fight in this squad as they look to make their mark this season.
