CREEKSIDE SHUFFLES PAST WHITING

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Creekside Fitness just snuck out a close win Monday night at Bob Cene Park against the Whiting Roll-Offs 5-3.

At the plate Creekside was led by Wyatt Burchill, who went 2 for 3 and score two runs. Dylan Smith was the losing pitcher on the hill as he allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Hunter Garvin picked up the win on the mound this evening as he had an amazing performance that included no runs allowed, no hits allowed, and twelve strikeouts through five innings of work before being relieved by Hunter Kobialka, who allowed three runs on three hits with one strikeout through two innings of work. 

CREEKSIDE GETS EARLY MORNING WIN

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside’s 18U team started the NABF senior World Series off hot with a win over ProNine on Thursday. Nick Magnifico was magnificent on the mound, leading his club to a 4-0 shutout victory.

Danny Flynn went 1-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI. Will Morrow went 1-3 with an RBI. Tyler Kamerer had a sac-fly to score a run and RBI, he also had a walk and a stolen base.  

Nick Magnifico went all 7 innings and completed a shutout. He gave up just 2 hits and struck out 9.

CREEKSIDE ROPES THE LONGHORNS

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside’s 16U squad opened up their NABF World Series run on a strong note Thursday with a 7-3 win over the Ohio Longhorns Lally.

Tyler Mikulin had a strong bat going 1-2 with 3 RBI on the day. Carter Owens managed multiple hits going 2-3 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.  Frank Senediak also managed multiple hits going 2-4 with a run scored, and a RBI.  Mason Petridis grabbed multiple hits as well going 2-3 with a run scored.

Owens was given the win on the hill for Creekside. He went 3.2 innings and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8.

FALCONS SCRAPE PAST CREEKSIDE IN GAME 1

STRUTHERS OH- The rivalry between Creekside, and Astro Falcons is alive and well. The two teams meet yet again in an 18U championship series for Class B Baseball. The regular season matchups were Astro Falcons dominated affairs, but Creekside came ready to battle Sunday night. In a pitcher’s duel the Falcons still won 2-1.

The Falcons did the most they could with their pair of hits on the night. Jack Whalen went 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI.  David Kessler walked and got credited with a RBI as well.  The other hit for Astro came from Clay Wiesen who 1-3 with a run scored.

 

The Astros pitching was dominant as ever as Jordan Kolenda went 7 innings only giving up 1 run on 6 hits. He struck out 10 while walking none.

Braden Zeigler collected the only RBI of the day for Creekside going 1-3. Danny Flynn had multiple hits going 2-3. Tyler Kamerer went 1-3 as well with a run scored.

Mark Bunch was the tough luck loser for Creekside. He held the Falcons offense to just 2 hits and gave up 2 runs.  He struck out 4.

CREEKSIDE RUNS AWAY WITH GAME 1

STRUTHERS OH- It’s time for the playoffs in Class B Baseball. Creekside found themselves matched up with Avalanche in round 1. In the important Game 1 Creekside’s offense flexed their muscles to a 14-7 win.  Their 11 run 5th inning was the nail in the coffin.

Mason Petrodis had a very productive day at the plate. He went 2-4 on the day with a run scored, and 3 RBI.  Carter Owens was perfect at the plate going 3-3 with 2 runs scored, and a pair of RBI.  Tyler Mikulin also had a pair of RBI on a 1-3 day.

Petridis pitched Creekside to the win. He went 2 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 3 hits.  He struck out a pair.

Creekside and Avalanche will meet again in Game 2 tomorrow. Avalanche would have to win a double header to win the series.

CREEKSIDE HAS ALL THE FIRE POWER


STRUTHERS OH- As we inch closer to the end of the regular season in 16U Class B action, wins are important more than ever. Fortunately for Creekside, they were able to get a dominant win over Ballistic Thursday night. Creekside walked away with a 14-2 victory over Ballistic.

Tyson Tarajack, Aaron Doughty, and Tommy Smith all led Creekside at the plate. Tarajack went 3-3 with a run scored, an RBI, and a walk. Doughty went 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Smith went 2-4 with 3 runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. Creekside scored 14 runs on 14 hits, and finished with 2 walks and 9 RBIs as a team.

Adam Konnerth got the win on the mound for Creekside. In his 4 IP, he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits. He struck out 8 on the day.

Michael Daley and Donovan Bell-Sullivan both led Ballistic at the plate. Daley went 1-2 on the day with a walk. Bell-Sullivan went 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Ballistic scored 2 runs on 4 hits, along with 2 RBIs and 5 walks as a team.

CREEKSIDE EARNS MUCH NEEDED VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside came in to Thursday trying to stay in the top tier of the 16U division of Class B Baseball. They knew a win would get them much needed momentum heading towards the end of the regular season. It was a back and forth battle with Dura Edge, but Creekside came out on top 10-8.

Aaron Doughty came up big for Creekside going 1-3 with 2 RBI.  Andrew Brian used a perfect day at the plate to go 2-2.  He scored 2 runs, walked once, and knocked in a run.  Joe Balog led the top of the lineup with a 2-4 day with a RBI.

Jonathan Husband got the win on the hill. He threw 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits.  He struck out a batter.

Paul Gubba continued to have an impressive summer going 1-3 with a RBI for Dura Edge. Zachary Ganser also went 1-3 with a RBI.  Matt Pallerino had a multiple hit day going 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Michael Gushura also had multiple hits going 2-4.

Alex Eusebio went 2 innings for Dura Edge and took the loss. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.  He struck out 3.  The pitching staff struck out 11 total on the day.

WHITING UPSETS CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS, OH- The Whiting Roll-Offs pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season in the 18U division of the Youngstown Class B League. Whiting entered the ballgame as the last seed in the league, but struck early to beat the number 2 seeded Creekside Fitness on Saturday night.

The Roll-Offs put up a crooked number of 5 runs in the first frame to jump out in front of Creekside. Both Anthony Malagise and Brady Shannon tripled and scored in the first, followed by a 2 RBI single by catcher Nick Vitale. Creekside got on the board in the fifth inning with one of the most uncommon plays in baseball, the inside the park homer run. Creekside designated hitter Andrew Cupan smashed a ball all the way to the right field wall, and hustled around the bases for an inside the park home run. Whiting would get some much needed insurance in the sixth inning with a run scored by Nick Kingerski to make it 6-1. Creekside made it interesting in the seventh inning, putting together a 4 run inning to make it a one run lead, but Malagise induced a ground out to squeeze by Creekside by a final of 6-5.

Roll-Offs starting pitcher Logan Creamer was phenomenal tossing 6 innings and allowing just 2 hits, while striking out 7 batters. Creamer picks up his second win of the season, and pulls off the thrilling upset on Saturday. Creekside and Whiting both return to action tomorrow at Bob Cene Park. CREEKSIDE WINS ANOTHER CLOSE ONE


STRUTHERS OH- Creekside looked to move to 9 straight wins on Monday with a win over the Avalanche, and they did just that in a tight game. In 18U Class B action, Creekside fought to a 2-1 victory.

Tyler Kamerer and Colin Marinpetro both came up big at the plate for Creekside. Kamerer went 3-4 with 2 runs scored. Marinpetro went 4-4 with an RBI. Creekside scored 2 runs on 9 hits, and 1 RBI as a team.

Mark Bunch got the win on the hill for Creekside. He went 7 IP with 1 earned run on 4 hits. He finished with 7 strikeouts on the day.

Both Lucas Cummings and Kenny Lavrich led the Avalanche at the plate. Cummings went 2-2 on the day. Lavrich went 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI on a Home Run. The Avalanche  scored 1 run on 4 hits, along with 1 RBI as a team.

Jaret Boyer took the loss for the Avalanche. He went 7 IP, surrendering 1 earned run on 9 hits. He finished with 6 strikeouts on the day.

CREEKSIDE GETS THE BEST OF THE FALCONS

STRUTHERS OH- Creekside Fitness sent a strong message to the rest of Class B as they dominated their way to a 7-1 victory over Astro Falcons in 16U action.

Derek Smail was the biggest bat of the day for Creekside. He went 2-2 on the day with 2 walks and 2 RBI. He also scored once.  Andrew Kali collected a hit and a pair of walks to gather a RBI. He scored a pair of runs as well.  Hunter Kobalka collected multiple hits going 2-3 with a run scored.

Smail took the win on the mound. He threw 3 innings and gave up no earned runs on 1 hit. He struck out 8 and walked 1.

Sam Castronova got the lone RBI for the Falcons. Jake Schneider got the only hit of the day.

Jaden Rishel threw the bulk of the innings for the Falcons. He lasted 4 and gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits. He struck out 5.
